Ok let me start this review by letting you know I LOVE Treasure Hunt Liquidators (THL) and have been a customer at the Goldsboro store for a year. Knowing how great my local store is, I decided to make the drive to see it for myself. The store is absolutely ENORMOUS! Concord you are in for a real treat. The deals here are amazing. Some are obvious like Instant Pot and back massagers, which I along with countless others found here, however there are hidden gems too you just have to look.
In the brown box area, I found 2 bicycle motors and a set of granite pots and pans. I bought 24 items at the grand opening and only one had an original retail value under $100. I enjoyed the DJ and the free tacos. The employees were friendly and the area in the back where you open boxes was huge, plus you can plug things in to verify if they work.
Now for the problem. THL is new to your area. They do things differently than other “bin” style stores you have. For some people different is good, others are creatures of habit, and it does not feel good to them. Unfortunately, they are the ones writing the reviews and I am afraid many will miss out on what IS the best deal in the Charlotte area.
How are they different? Other stores will buy their products, place it all out at one time and the price drops daily. So, on the first day you will find Instant Pots and tubes of toothpaste at the same time and price. Here you won’t. They employ lots of people to go through the pallets they buy and separate it based on the perceived value. So, toothpaste will be put to the side for let's say $3 day or even $1 day. This is good for us because as the customer, we don’t have to sift through the cheaper stuff to find the treasures, they have done it for us.
Now there is a lot of talk about them pulling expensive items and putting them behind the counter or on the shelves. Do you really think that they pay the same for a pallet of new Instant Pot’s as they do for a pallet of toothpaste or returns? Let's be real people. They obviously can't buy them as cheap as the things in the bins, so they don't sell all of them to us for bin prices. However, they sell them at a deep discount. For example, yesterday at my THL my son bought a Lego set at the chest for $40 while it was $3 day. Was that a deal compared to $3 no, but the set is $139.99 at Lego so it was an awesome deal for us. I appreciate the deals behind the counter, and I understand how they work. Not everything is purchased with the intent of going in the bins. They have appliances and furniture at mine, and I don’t expect that will be bin price. They buy to get the best deal for the customer and pass the savings on to us. Also, some things they will negotiate on back their others they won’t. It's just that simple and not personal.
Every day, multiple times a day, they restock the bins as they get bought up, or as those in the back find more things to put out. That is why this place is a true treasure. You are not missing out if you can’t get there first thing in the morning because more will be brought out later for you. Trust me I know this firsthand from experience. Some days I can get there early and sure that is great because you have the first pick of the things left from the previous day and now, they are cheaper. However, coming in the afternoon is just as awesome because the bins have cleared out some along with some of the people and they have added a bunch of new things yet to be gone through. I know people who go twice a day just because of this. The deals are there all day.
I would really encourage you to check this store out. Go more than once. Go on different days, at different times. Honestly it took my family awhile to get used to how it is done here, but now that we get it, we are hooked, and I can’t pay over $12 for anything anywhere else lol.
Have patience and happy hunting Concord you’re going to love this place!
And no, I was not paid or compensated for this review but astonished by the negative ones and had to post this! I’m just a mom who loves...
Read moreSo from a reseller point of view: This isn't the place. Tons of product in well organized bins, for sure. They are also almost all Chinese knockoff brands and low tier brands. For example you won't find a DeWalt 20 volt cordless angle grinder in one of their bins, but you'll find a HyperTough corded one. Whereas far as the name brand products go, they are all individually priced on the walls and behind sales counters. The majority of those prices are roughly 50% of retail, so if you're shopping for personal use it seems like there are some pretty good deals there. Most of us who resell for a living know that we're probably only going to get 40% to 60% of MSRP for a resale item new in box, So paying that much for it kind of defeats the purpose. But again, if you're shopping for personal use this place is fine. If you're shopping for inventory, skip this place and go to Where Ya Bin on Branchview, where it's the classic bin store experience without them picking out the high dollar items to sell for even...
Read moreUse caution!!! A ton of items are used and so glad I checked the box. I found a chi 2 straightener box and a PMD beauty microdermabrasion kit. Went to open both. Both complete junk. The straightener in the box was a returned used off brand that someone put in the box. It was nasty. Then the facial machine was also complete junk, clearly a return with someone’s dead facial skin on the tool heads. So don’t get too excited. I think the posted photos of finds on their Facebook page are fakes and set up. So glad I didn’t just check out and checked the boxes. They appeared new but absolutely were not. Did find one item I liked but not sure it’s worth the time of searching through hundreds of unlabeled...
