Lindy’s furniture has a huge display and good prices. Service though – questionable. Beware regarding delivery information especially if you live outside of their 20-mile delivery radius. If you’re further out, arrange your own delivery. It’ll will be faster. Mark, the salesman who wrote up my purchase, told me that I’d get a call from the carrier within a week to schedule delivery. After 5 days, I called the company to make sure they’d received the paperwork. They did and had picked up the furniture from Lindy’s two days prior. Excited I asked when it could be delivered. She explained that the company would be closed 4th of July week and that she’d call when they returned on July 7. Based on their present commitments and back log, she guessed delivery would be about 3-4 weeks out. I was shocked. I called Mark to clarify delivery information and ask for his help. He again explained delivery information he’d already given me, then proceeded to give me more excuses…he was on vacation, didn’t get the memo that the carrier would be on vacation, didn’t offer any other company who could deliver, wouldn’t cancel the transaction when I asked, blah blah blah….. I reminded him of how proud he was when he told me that Lindy’s was a family-owned business for over 100 years (he’s a cousin) and told him I thought this meant good customer service. Offering excuses versus offering solutions is not customer service. I called the transportation company again asking who else might be able to deliver. J&L Furniture Services out of Hickory came to my rescue. They picked up my furniture from original carrier and delivered it to me today - 5 days after this...
Read moreLindy's employees were friendly and helpful and they have lots of inventory in both stores. Prices seemed average but they were willing to come off the prices some to compete with other stores. I ordered a Lazyboy couch and it took 8 weeks to have it delivered. Delivery was $150. We couldn't pay Lindy's ahead of time for delivery and the delivery company didn't take cards or checks. The delivery company called and told us when they would deliver the couch. They showed up a couple hours early which meant we hadn't gone to the ATM to get cash. The delivery people acted like they were doing us a favor by taking a check and they made a smart comment about not forgetting the tip. My tip for them was to either take credit cards or show up when you tell me you are going to show up. The couch was not what I expected from Lazyboy at all and not like the one we sat on at the store. I could feel the wood frame on my side and all the padding on the leg extension was on the bottom which hit the carpet. All the padding hitting the carpet made it impossible to extend without yanking it up by hand. At first Lindy's said it would take time to break the couch in. Then they said they would have a repairman fix it but I would be responsible for bringing them my brand new couch to fix. I didn't really want to pay $150 each way to have my new couch delivered for repair so they agreed to send out a repairman to fix the leg extension but not the wood frame I could feel on my side. After two months with no word from the repairman and watching my carpet wear out from having to drag the leg extensions up by hand I fixed my brand new...
Read moreAfter looking for a new couch for quite some time and price shopping I came across Lindys furniture. They had the best price by far. I call to place an order and the lady was vert helpful in placing a custom order from the manufacture. Unfortunately its all down hill from there.
I was told a wait time of 6-8 weeks on the longest side, usually 4. after 10 weeks I was still waiting. 12 goes by and I'm finally notified that it has arrived. I can see it may not be their fault. So they recommend a delivery company. (I live 2 hrs away). Seemed like a decent price. Lindys set up the delivery and stated it will be here next week.
I call "Carolina classic delivery company" who tell me that week that it will be the following week. So now working on 2 weeks with the delivery company. Note: this delivery company charges you to wait until it is convenient for them to make a delivery; once they have a full truck going to your area you will get a 4 hr heads up on the delivery. So a month of wait just on the delivery company on top of the 12 weeks on Lindys and I still have no couch ($2500 couch + $250 delivery). For that amount of money you would think a little customer service could be had. I have had nothing but the run around and bs excuses and promises for "it'll be next week".
Save your peace of mind, if you have to spend a little more money, and go else where; unless waiting 6 months is ok. They will not tell you of the extended wait time. you will be lied to. they do not care about their customers and offer no help or solution that is not convenient for them to...
