We had a fantastic experience at Black Rock. The course itself was very nice and incredibly well kept, making for a scenic and enjoyable round of golf. The addition of a grill on-site was a huge plus—there were plenty of choices on the menu, and the food was excellent. My one suggestion for improvement would be to add a hot roller to their setup; it took quite a while to get a couple of hot dogs, and that’s one item that really should be ready to go. Overall, though, this course is great, and I look forward to returning.

Course was in great shape .. snack bar ladies were great..check in was a breeze..only complaint was pace of play. Had two 3somes in front of us and when we got out of range of the clubhouse, they grouped up. No on course ranger broke them up or even talked to them. Took us 5 hours to ride 18 and we had 2 groups with us on every teebox. Very congested. There was another group we saw with 4 carts as well. Maybe they were short staffed. Who knows. Other than that it was a great round.

Nice course. Wide open holes not on top of each other. Not an easy walk. Great views. Greens run true. Lots of water hazards but they are fun. Lots of ducks and geese.

Show up to course and Terry is sitting there and asks me what do I want. I told him I'm a single and would like to ride 18 and warm up with a small bucket. I tell him it's my first time playing the course, he replies with nothing. I hand him my card and doesn't tell me how much it is. So I ask and then tells me (twilight rate plus $4 for range balls). He then tells me to hurry up bc all the carts must be back by 815pm (it was a little after 4pm when I got there). The course is pretty good overall. Fairways and greens are in good shape. The tee boxes are long and furry, it looked like they haven't cut them in a while. Finish 18 and see that holes 8 and 9 are on the other side. I had completely missed them due to some of the funky routing of the course. So I'm finishing on 9 and I'm putting on the green for birdie and Terry comes out on the balcony and says I'm the last 1 and he's waiting for me to finish. I go back to the cart and check my phone and it's 720pm. This was the worst experience I've ever had on a golf course. Just relocated up here and will never play that course again. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. It was rated Best Maryland Public Course in 2009. I just can't see why with a person like Terry working there. If I could rate it in the...

Me and my buddies have been playing Black Rock for a long time. Great Golf Course for the money and very well taken care of. All ways a Great time. Until yesterday, I've been pretty sick lately but am able to get a Blue Flag witch allows me access so I can get closer to the T box's and Greens as well as my ball. I am on Oxygen so this is a huge help for me. Yesterday I was told by "Bob" who said he was the head of grounds that I had to stay 20 yards away from T Box's and Greens or he was going to show me the door.. It has left a real bad taste in my mouth.

So it's a month later and now I think they are breaking the Law, Discriminating against the Handy Cap. They put up a sign saying stay 20 yards from Tees and Greens if you have a Blue Flag.

So I ask, what good are they?

I think I'll ask my...

Great Course. Washington County is very lucky to have a beautiful course like this one. The views on the back 9 are amazing. Some of the holes include an elevated tee box over water and some very tricky tough doglegs. There is a public park on the front 9, where some juvenile kids play lacrosse, basketball, etc which can be distracting.

The food is okay. Nothing special but good deal for what you are paying for. Twilight rates arent too bad either. Overall, good course, average food, nice people, and Amazing views of the hills. I think this course may have some...
