I used to love this circle K. There was always the sweetest older lady in there who always made it feel like your neighborhood corner store. I adored her. We since moved but were near the area the other day. I had gone in for something that was behind the counter. I needed a moment to figure out what I wanted. Once ready to order, I tried to make signs that I was ready - I tried to make eye contact with the representative, which mind you - is right in front of me actively trying to ignore me. She then thought it would be appropriate to have a 5 minute conversation with another employee, complaining about work, and then discussed why the other employee present put in his two weeks. Not once was I told “one moment” or “I’ll be right with you” to at least show that they were aware I was waiting. Instead it was complete ignorance. I am in customer service and understand being busy, shift changes, advising other employees of something, etc. this was none of the case. Just a sheer lack of respect for the customer, business, and honestly themselves. I’m surprised she still had a position there if that’s the way she treats customers. I simply just chuckled and said have a great conversation, in which she replied “yes maam, we will. Have a good night”. It’s people like this that ruin a single location. Thankfully, I’m never in that part of town so I won’t have to ever deal with her unprofessionalism again, but I was completely taken back at just being completely ignored while they are paid to talk shit about the company. If a manager does decide to read this and look into it, you will see the surveillance of me waiting there and not even a glance in my direction as both employees were right in front of me at the...
Read moreI was very happy to see a Circle K opening locally. I had been to many nice Circle Ks out West and always wondered why none of our convenience stores back home (Wilmington) could compete. I think I now know. The people here are terrible. This place has one robot of lady working in the mornings who spits out phrases about the weather and other small talk like a pre programmed machine. You could reply that a spaceship landed outside and crushed your car and she would say the same thing as if you told her you were having the best day of your life. The other employees are apparently too good to run their register unless people are backing up out the door. They are always too busy with something else. What that is, I don't know. Every day some coffee is out. Some machine is broken. The milk is empty. When you are able to get what you want there is usually an employee standing in front of you doing something that really doesn't matter, like grouping the sugar and creamer together. Nevermind the fact there is a customer trying to make it to work behind them. The place is expensive as all hell. Coffee costs as much as Port City Java and you have to make it yourself. A bag of beef jerky is about 15 dollars. The same donuts sit in the machine for a week without even being rotated or moved. The snacks are going stale as they cost more than going out for lunch. The drink selection is ho hum. This place needs an entire new staff that gives a damn and is smart enough to prep for rush hours. It's like every day is a surprise that people walked in. Great concept....
Read moreCircle K used to be our family favorite place to stop until hurricane Florence hit in Wilmington NC. The devistation that Wilmington NC received is really undescribable. Anyway, as most businesses do when disaster strikes, they unite with the community to help during times of need but, not Circle K. As most businesses and houses still had no power and most people still not back at work just like me. Anyway, we didn't have power as well but, circle k had power and cold drinks so, we went in for a fountain soda. Soda machine was out but did have ice. So, I didn't have to use their cup, I got my 16oz cup out of my car. Got one 16oz cup of ice and a 1.49 MTN dew. They charged me 2.44. The difference was, I was charged an extra 85 cents for ice when you didn't have the fountain to go with it but, I still bought a soda out of your cooler. Remember when I told you I still wasn't able to go back to work because of the destruction well, circle k took my last dollar I was using for a dollar McChicken sandwich from McDonald's for supper. She did explain to me circle k charges .85 for ice...... period. I haven't lived this close to a circle k so, I haven't stopped there enough to be presented with this type of situation. Does circle k really have to charge this much for ice? Does circle k make such low gross profit dollars that they must grossly over charge for.......ice or a better word is...
