Puget hound is a lifesaver. It is so nice to have somewhere to bring my pups if i have a long day of meetings, appointments, contractors coming by, or the weather is bad and they still need to get some energy out. Quick and easy to schedule, even last minute. They're also very accommodating should something come up.
PH has been helpful with socializing our dogs too, since they are both rescues, we are not sure of their history and it helps to have a safe place they can meet and play with other dogs. Its great to know the dogs have been vetted for temperament and are up to date with their vaccines. PH does keep up to date, even a day past expiration and you cant schedule, which I appreciate.
Everyone here is also absolutely lovely, from the front desk to the attendants. They’re all amazing. We especially appreciate the daycare lead, Lindy, who has helped us figure out what can help our dogs enjoy daycare more. Ive never seen any out of control behavior while there, the packs always seem to listen to their human, unlike when you go to a dog park and no dogs listen to their owners. Ive also never seen anyone ignoring the dogs, looking at their phone, etc.., all seem engaged in caring for our pups.
One of my dogs ripped his toe nail while there, running around like crazy, they promptly called me and cared for him while i drove to pick him up. I wish i could remember the human who helped him so i could shout them out too, because they were so kind and caring, they even asked me how he was the next few visits i had with our other dog. Id imagine itd be hard to notice something so small when youre with a bunch of dogs in a somewhat open area, he was unphased when i saw him (no limping), clearly they are attentive.
The only thing i would change is I really would love if they got grooming back. We never utilized it previously, we had a groomer who is now retired, id love if they had grooming services. Last time i asked, they were looking, but we all know how difficult staffing is right now.
We truly would be a hot mess without puget hounds help and really appreciate you all! Very highly recommend. I’m not a review writer, but had to write up something for these folks, they are...
Read moreMy husband and I have an older border collie that enjoys quite and prefers to hang out in his bed with his stuffed animals. Needing to board him for the first time since we moved to the area, we were happy to find Puget Hound just up the road from us. The website made them sound great with peaceful "Privacy Lodging" (their words on the website). So we booked him for a stay in one of their "Peaceful rooms & suites" (This is a literal bullet point on their website). The website boasted about "Fluffy blankets on raised cots" and "Soft music and dog-friendly TV" (again, literal bullet points on their website). There weren't really any pictures of the boarding area though so I decided to take a tour a few days before his stay.
My husband and I went and took the tour, it was nothing like what was listed on the website. There were no rooms or suites for the dogs there, just kennels with cinder block in between them. The floors were gross, there were no dogs with "fluffy" blankets, and it was extremely loud. The only dogs I saw with any form of proper bedding were dogs beds that you could tell came with them. The whole boarding area was more like a prison.
I asked about the music and TV that was missing. The only answer I got was that the TV had been broken for a while and she wasn't sure about the music. It was not a peaceful area by any means.
We canceled our reservation that day and will be driving out of the way in order to have him in a facility that actually has those things. Puget Hound on the website and Puget Hound in reality are two completely different places. I would never ever board my dog here and if the owner was an honest person they would post actual pictures of their boarding area on...
Read moreI called in twice prior to setting up the 1st doggy day care for my pup. On both occasions I stated that he cannot be with unneutered males. Both times I was told no problem, he can be in a separate play group with no in tact males. When I dropped him off and was asked multiple intake questions regarding his demeanor, I expressed no less than 10 times that he is wonderful with all dogs and people except in tact males. The person who was doing the intake at one point said there are many in tact males that come through but we will try and see how it goes. I responded that it would absolutely not be ok, and if they couldn't guarantee separation for him that I would need to take him with me. She indicated understanding and I left, only be called back an hour later to be told that she had "tried to introduce him to an in tact male and he was clearly distressed, hackles raised and snarling". So I made myself very late for work and returned for him. I am exceptionally disappointed, to have not only have been completely misled, but also that my dog was set up for failure. I am flabbergasted at how many times I directly communicated his needs and how they were ignored. The appropriate response on my arrival would have been "Im sorry you were told, incorrectly, that we could have a separate play group, we can't do that" especially after I expressly stated if it was not possible that I would leave with him at the beginning. He was very distressed when I picked him up and I feel this situation was...
