One of the most scenic chapel locations in all of the LDS Church. The colonial-style building, originally dedicated by Ezra Taft Benson, sits on a portion of the original Mount Vernon estate and overlooks the Potomac River. George Washington, when surveying his own land, wrote of this location that it was a "beautiful home site." Although only set back from the river by a few hundred feet, the chapel can be difficult to find due to the mature trees around it and the lack of any signs on the George Washington Parkway (they are forbidden by the National Park Service).
