Mark’s Deer Processing — Local services in Conway Township

When you drop an adult doe off at the butcher for the first time in your life after butchering your own deer for 25 years , you can expect to have a few differences in the way people do things. But when you have two does the same size and you only have enough time to butcher one and you drop the other one off to Marks deer processing you get 23.5 lbs of meat including 4 sausage sticks and 2 1 lb brat packages that did not come from the deer you dropped off . The same size doe I was butchering myself I got 50 lbs of meat I’m sure they don’t go into getting picky like I do, but I called to ask if there was a second box that was forgot and I got laughed at, was told my shot wasn’t good (under the shoulder without hitting front shoulder bad shot ..ok). and told not to come back if I didn’t like it .. Now I guess I’ll go shoot another one because I am missing half a deer and I surely will not be taking it to Marks deer...

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Dropped off a nice size doe. When they were done processing the deer. My husband got a text message that was not professional at all. Picked up the deer in the time frame that was given. When I showed up they only gave me 1 box that said 32 lbs of meat on it. I questioned about a 2 box multiple times they said no just one. Opened the box when we got home and the hamburger were in all sorts of ounces. Who cooks meat in 8, 11, 13 ounces? Not me. Then I paid cash over $200. For about 1/2 of the deer. This place is a Rip off. Kept 1/2 of our deer and paid a least 30% more than the other...

This was our first time using Marks. I can’t speak of the meat processing quality quite yet as we’ve only used one package of backstraps but there was hair in it. Biggest problem was that they cut the antlers off my sons buck when they were not supposed to. It was written on the order sheet to save the head because my son was going to do a Euro mount. My son was very disappointed to say the least as it was a nice 10pt. One the positive side, the turn around time was fast and they did give us $40 off processing due to the error but that doesn’t really make up for it. Not sure that we’d use again atleast...
