This has been a long time coming.. I've have given this course thousands over the years and probably shouldn't have. The course overall is not taken care of the way Eagle Creek and other courses in the area, yet NS charges prices that are way too high for what you are getting.
Last year, I sent an email to Robbie the course manager. After no response and several follow-ups, he finally agreed to a meeting. I gave him candid feedback on the course from how bad the greens are, to the riffraff they allow on the course who plays a 6 hour round, to the tall grass around the fairways, etc. His response to me was that he did not agree with anything I said but was willing to give me a round on him on a Saturday to prove they can keep the course of play. I eventually went back to play a round and they still didn't have a pace keeper and the grounds were in average condition. I decided to not go back for almost 8 months until recently. I play several rounds over the past few weeks and most recently was Monday. I played over the last couple weeks and I will say Monday was the worst shape I’ve seen in again. The fairways are tore up , the greens are tore up, and most frustrating is the grass is so tall, all the fairways on every single hole, if you cannot find your ball at all.
I can’t tell you how many times I had a ball stuck into mud on the fairway or the rough . The side of the fairway grass was like a jungle, and it was nearly impossible to be able to find your ball to hit out. Also, the lawn guys could care less if you’re playing on a hole they will just continue to work around you and you have to hope you don't hit them.
To my next point, the tee boxes are absolutely disgusting. I don’t understand how they continue to justify the prices that they are charging. I paid almost 60 bucks to play a round Monday morning , and on Saturday morning as well and paid almost 80.
I sent an email to Robbie expressing my concerns and this is what he responded with:
I am sorry you feel that way. We are still relatively busy for summer time and those are the going rates this time of year. Unfortunately when you overseed heavy in the winter time it sometimes is a more difficult transition for the bermudagrass. Summertime we always battle heat, weather, weeds, disease etc. For the most part everyone is happy with the course and the rate they are paying. Most people seem to understand conditions in the summer are not always ideal. If you are unhappy with the course, maybe you should wait till the end of fall or beginning of season as conditions will only continue to improve.
Ideal is not even the word, the grass being 6' tall is because you are not managing your grounds crew properly. Has nothing to do with all of the empty excuses in your email to me. I do not know how he has kept his job for 14 years but it's a shame he does not take any pride in this course. He is very arrogant and super condescending. His belief is he will get the LN customers no matter what, so he feels he can manage the course with the bare minimum and respond the way he does because "most customers are happy", etc. This is not really the case, but not everyone writes reviews online. I myself have reframed from writing a review because I wanted to give candid feedback and hope that was heard. But clearly that is...
Read moreCourse was always fine but nothing special. My friends and I started avoiding all of the courses owned by this group a while back because we just always felt like more of a bother than a guest. However, for this specific case, I needed to play there with my son.
I called ahead regarding a special event and had a fair conversation with the person on the phone regarding a 9 hole rate. He was helpful and clear about the rate for the event. When I went in 2 days later to play though, the person at the desk was not aware of the rate. With quite a bit of attitude he quickly calls the GM and confirms the rate. Then when paying he stops again and said it only applied to my son and I must pay the 18 hole rate. I don't have a problem having a conversation about a misunderstanding whether on my part or not, but this person had no concern our customer experience. It was definitely not an issue for us to walk away disappointed.
Why would I pay for 18 and my son pay for 9? Not only that he wants to charge me the full rack rate. I knew the online rate was 20% lower but apparently I was not able to get that rate because I didn't book online.
How could I book online when I called ahead and confirmed that it would be a special 9 hole rate?
Needless to say we decided to walk away. No one wants to play where they are not appreciated. Sometimes you go back to a place hoping it will be better than you remember. In this case I was reminded why we stopped going there in the...
Read moreWanted to play on Sunday, February 5th. Called and got an answering service for tee times. The lady told me that the rate went from $99 to $59 at 2pm. So I made a 2pm tee time, only to find out that I had to give a credit card because they had a 24 hour cancellation policy. If we didn't show up, they charge me anyway. No big deal... I just had to make sure the other guys were going to make it. Called back and was told that the time for the discount is 3pm, instead of 2pm. That's the worst thing you can do to a customer. Even if she accidently made a mistake... you honor it. It was only an hour. Oh, and by the way, $59 was for out of state residents. It would have been $49 for a Florida resident. Apparently she was wrong about everything she told me. We were on the way in the car at this point, so I put up a stink and asked for the pro shop. The guy I spoke to at the pro shop just didn't want to hear it. He kept speaking over me and repeating, "it changes at 3pm". It's only an hour and your service told me the wrong thing... can you honor this, "Sure, after 3pm." Actually, as I'm typing this, I remember how upset he made me... so I just changed my rating from 2 stars to 1. I don't care how great your course is... get staff that understands what customer service is.
Long story short, never played here and...
