Dollar General — Local services in Cookeville

These stores are great. Prices are hecka low for sure. In and out, just like a convenience store but at half the cost. If there were any improvement to make, it would be to put some higher quality offerings in, you know, just here and there. Right now there's just the one option, cheap. I'm not going to hold it against them. After all, we're in Cookeville. There was definitely a retail niche there, that needed to be filled. They have done an outstanding job. The staff is helpful when called upon, cheerful and upbeat near to the point of outright vitality. For what it's worth I would highly recommend you stop and shop at the "DG", especially when time is of the essence and you don't want to be the latest retail victim at your local convenience store. You can skip the gas station on your way home, and within minutes you'll be upon a Dollar General ( they're everywhere). Your total won't be far from the one you might have had, had you schlepped a good 3/4 of a mile, 30 minutes later, through the Big Box store even further down the road. So there you go, you've saved money, but most of all, you saved precious time that you can give to your family or at the very least, get to bingeing all the sooner on your latest Netflix "binge worthy" experience, all the while you feel that deep satisfaction of money well spent, is money also well saved. Then the best part comes... "What's this?" you'll ask. Well, that's the warm fuzzy sensation of wisdom settling on you, but it quickly, yet subtly turns into an epiphany that bursts right in the center of your being. Over the next year, you plan your shopping right, bypass the convenience store and stay clear from Big Box Stores apart from necessity, you have given yourself back time and money that you can hardly quantify. I have never had a bad experience with Dollar General let me say that first off at least not this location. But after what I just learnt I'm sorry but I will not step foot back into that store or any other store in Putnam County if they are going to require you to wear a mask. After our governor has told us it is not going to be a requirement. So until this store and every other can stop this sheep requirement I will from now on be doing online shopping delivered to my home. I will not nor will my family be shapes for this hidden agenda. The government cannot take away our right to bear arms so they are going about it another way and requiring mask. By the way it's a class 4 felony to wear a mask while carrying a gun no matter if you have a permit or not. I had a horrible experience. Dustin,who works there and who is also the manager (I think), accused my neighbor of shop lifting. Then Dustin ran out to my car and yelled at me not to bring my neighbor back. I don't think my neighbor tried to shop lift, he had a whole pocket full of money and I do not appreciate Destin treating me like I had something to do with it, I had no idea what was going on.
