I rarely leave reviews, and honestly, I hesitated to write this; but if this review prevents just one person from dealing with this callous, money-driven company (Fairchild), then it will have been worth my time.
We were genuinely excited to attend their Night at the Garden Saturday night light show. However, a serious emergency came up that made it impossible for us to go. In the midst of managing this emergency, we still made an effort to contact the company. We called multiple times, leaving a voicemail explaining our situation, but there was no response—no call back, nothing.
We followed up with an email, and after several days, we received a terse, heartless reply. They essentially told us there was nothing they could do because we didn’t notify them “in time.” While I understand the technicality here, we did try to inform them before the start time. The bottom line is that this company took our money and showed no care or compassion for our circumstances.
Some of you might be thinking, “Well, technically, they have a policy.” Fair enough. But here’s the thing: emergencies happen. No one could have predicted ours. And for a company that claims to provide "family fun" during the holiday season, you would expect some level of understanding, empathy, or flexibility—especially when they’ve already received full payment. Instead, they prioritized a small technicality over human decency.
If you’re okay with a business that lacks compassion and integrity, go ahead and support them. But if you value companies that stand by their customers, especially in times of need, take your business elsewhere. I wholeheartedly recommend Jungle Island, where the management and staff actually practice the values they promote on their website.
I apologize for the long review, but it’s disheartening to see businesses treat customers like numbers rather than people.
Merry Christmas to all who read this. I wish you a beautiful, healthy, and happy...
Read moreNight at the garden featured an enchanting evening of sights, smells and comfort on a Thanksgiving Saturday. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. Map of the evenings festivities are included in pictures take a look at it to guage how much walking is involve. It's an excellent activity to do with couples and families after a major holiday since you'll walk all those calories away like my family did. We ordered the fried rice bowl, mines was shrimp and the others had chicken. There is a spicy sauce, to me was mild, but would have loved for them to have followed instructions to put sauce on the side like they did my family.
There were around five food trucks, one of which was a desert- ice cream/churrus and etc. The others were Asian, tacos food trucks and etc. Not much variety to choose from. My food was good, plentiful and hot at $19.94 and $4 dollars and change for bottled water. There were a bar that we didn't visit but most parents had a smile on their faces so the drinks must have been nice.
The restroom area had a restroom attendent at the first more busier area between the bar and dancing disco balls and none at the one at the rear of the event. Restrooms were tidy enough.
Parking, entrance security, ticket scanning, food and eating all done efficiently. There even was a talking tree! Only slight complaint is that there wasnt more to enjoy! It was a good amount of walking to burn calories but I don't feel as if I saw a whole lot. Something was missing, and it seems to be the main attraction-the lights!
There were no light show and there should have been lights at some of the grey spaces inbetween all of the fun. Some lights seemed either off or missing all together. There were supposed to be 3 fairy statutes but we saw only 2 and the app section for taking pictures were hard to find. Event was geared more towards families with very small children. There were no live performances other than the man...
Read moreThe prices made no sense, they advertise one thing and charge another. Ended up costing almost $130 for 4 tickets, while others paid $88 for 4, and we tried to book for a Wednesday?? On top of that, there was some light sprinkling rain, they closed event, and we drove 2 hours for nothing! Even when we arrived no one said anything, no sign saying anything. We had to exit vehicle and walk up to person in vehicle and he informed us event was closed. I said well it would have been nice if someone called or emailed to let us know before we made long drive. And why was it canceled anyway, the weather was not that bad. Then when we arrived back home and attempted to get refund, it was not made easy. It had a drop down box asking what city, well the event shows an address in Coral gables, FL, when we exited it showed the city Kendal, FL and online it advertises Miami, FL, and NONE of those 3 cities were an option. This place does not seem to run very well, they dont seem to know what they are doing and after reading the negative reviews saying its overpriced and only takes 30 minutes to see whole garden, I would NOT attempt a 2nd trip there! I was gas, 2 hours of our time and ruined our evening. Now had they informed us it would be closed, we would have made other plans. They also do NOT describe exactly what this place is. It sounds like it was indoor/outdoor experience, but if weather shuts the entire event down, i guess the entire thing is outdoors. When i see incompetency like this, it always end sup being something that was not worth it, so i would NOT...
