Awful experience - knowingly selling old horse feed at both Maple Plain and Loretto locations. Thought we would give them a try since they are close by and sometimes the place we usually purchase our horse feed from runs out of bags of Triple Crown Senior.

Purchased four bags of Triple Crown Senior on 10/2/2021 opened a bag to feed to our horses and found old feed. Usually Triple Crown Senior is bright brown, sticky and sweet smelling. This bag was obviously old as it was pasty light brown, smelled old, and pellets were broken down and basically granular. I have never opened a bag like this from Triple Crown.

They returned the bags but when I tried to get them to search their product for replacement bags for a more recent date we got huge attitude from the guy in the back. Plus we had called before we came back to see if they had anything dated newer in stock and the call center gave bad info as the bags were from the same date as the bags we were returning. Disappointed they are comfortable selling obviously bad feed.

They tried to offer another alternative at the register but this alternative brand was actually dated over a year old versus just the 6 months of the...

Usually have a wonderful experience here. I had literally just come from a family members funeral... i needed bug spreay for my horse... we loved up the two dogs that were in the store, loved up the two kittens in the kennel and didn't see anyone... walked around and saw someone on a forklift.. said hello, is there someone who can help? She said, help with what... I said oh to just ring us up, she said, well everyone needs to wait their turn, I'm the only here... I said oh, I'm sorry I didn't know? Already emotional, her attitude was the last thing I needed that day... she was just so rude about it. I just decided not to say anything else, she must have realized and started to be nice and spoke to my daughter nicely... needless to say... you never know where someone is coming from or what they are going through... no need to be rude, I was a customer and wasn't rude to her. I will definitely choose to goto a different spikes and houles in the future, even if it is...

I am a frequent customer at Spikes in Loretto. Today I had an experience that may have me shopping elsewhere. As I walked into the store, there was an employee right by the door. I was never greeted at all. I went about the store and got everything I needed and proceeded to check out. The same employee was at the cash register and she never acknowledged me except to tell me what my total was. I bought two large bags of birdseed, one smaller bag of birdseed, a large bag of dog food and other items which I was able to put in a reusable bag I brought. I spent over $200. There was also a gentlemen working and neither one offered to help me with my items. I had to make three trips back into the store to get my purchases. Very underwhelmed with the customer...
