Topsham Telephone — Local services in Corinth

This is possibly the worst internet service we’ve ever had to use. Their service packages are awful, I would actually consider it a form of robbery. Over $120 for 7mbs upload and 1 mb download which we never even reach is absurd, that’s the highest plan they had for us. For reference, the cheapest ECfiber plan is $70 for 75 mbs upload/75 mbs download and ECfiber provides Fiber internet on top of that.

That’s not even all of it. Constant disconnects and being given old, cheap, outdated equipment (router/modem) that they charge you a fee for monthly has driven me mad lol. DSL itself is very outdated compared to Cable or Fiber, but this isn’t even close to the best that DSL can offer.

All I can say is I’ve heard that ECfiber is finally coming to where I live, I’ve seen their trucks around and the minute their service is available I am switching. This isn’t an advertisement, I don’t even usually write google reviews, but the amount I’ve paid for this internet service over the years while dealing with disconnects and slow speeds weekly has gotten me annoyed...

Way too much money for way too little internet speed. Their highest priced option for their fastest internet speed is the base option with the lowest speed with my previous internet provider. For the same price we pay now, it was literally 20x faster for downloads and 50x faster for uploads. They’re the only option we have though, and to work at home in Vermont - which is absolutely necessary for our struggling local economy - we need the internet. So we pay $120 per month for 5mps down and 1 up - significantly slower on weekends and evenings. So lame. Would love to see a proper civic infrastructure project to spur economic growth in rural Vermont. This internet is a disgrace, the elementary school doesn’t have WiFi often leaving my family there with nothing for a day, I often get 1/2 mbps meaning gamings not an option with 750-1050 ping on a good day, I can’t talk to family on the phone and during quarantine I could not do zooms so school was a nightmare. It takes anywhere from 4-10 minutes to upload an assignment for school, you got a grant for half a million dollars from the state to up it to fiber optics and you “sent and email” out to people asking if they wanted fiber, none of my friends or family got this “email” and only 50 people actually ended up with an upgrade.
