Purchased two golden arborvite and planted them correctly with plenty of good soil and water regularly. Also two other shrubs. The arborvite both began to die. But nothing could prepare me for the returning of them. I arrived and drove to the back and spoke with a young lady who worked there. She was very nice and told me to go upfront and speak with the cashier and they would help. As I approached the counter there was a gentleman who said I MUST bring them so they could see them, as if they didn't exist. So I walked all the way to the back and drove back up front. The manager was at the counter, her name is either Becky, or Brandy, or something else, but her last name was Fox. I'll never forget that. First she was already confrontational. She said curtly "What is your company ID?" I told her I didnt have one it was my first time here. Then, with attitude, she said "Did these plants have a red tag??" I said no, didnt see one. Well, we don't allow returns for Red Tag plants!! I was still confused about it. As I was filling out the "paperwork" for the return. She immediately grabbed a gift card and began putting the return on it. She didnt know how to do it and was being rude to the cashier because she was lost with the process. I asked if it was possible to get the money back, and that was a big mistake!! Ms. Fox then rudely stated that this is the only way to handle this. That's the only way she ever handles this!! But it was apparent that she never had to do "this because she couldn't even run the register. When it wouldn't work for her, she wanted my credit card!! And as she was rudely trying to rush me thought that process, she was saying "how were these plants cared for??!!" I informed her that I run a landscape enterprise, she would have to ask the "homeowner." Then it was apparent she couldn't do a return with the credit card either, and asked if this was a debit or credit card??? Finally the transaction was made by the regular cashier who was looking like she wanted to leave with me to escape this "manager". This was the worst service I have ever received from a retail company. I will never go back there and always have my opinion for anyone who asks for a "good" nursery. As I have already made that clear to everyone I know in the lawn care business in Huntersville NC. Shame on Ms Fox and shame one Pikes for having a manager such as...
Read moreFirst Timer Experience- My first visit, I was able to shop at Pike’s about 2 weeks ago and had an excellent experience from start to finish. I brought my 4 year old daughter to assist me in picking out some indoor plants. She loves a new adventure and was overjoyed when she saw the outdoor fountain with waterfall and koi pond. My first impression was that Pike’s seemed well maintained, spacious, clean and with a variety of plants and gardening accessories.
First, I made my way to the Christmas clearance because I like a good deal and everything was 50% off or more. Then, we moved through the different plants and flower sections of the nursery. There were several beautiful selections that I wanted to buy, but was unsure of plant care details. A store associate, Adriana, kindly stepped in and answered my questions about the 2 plants I was considering to purchase. She appeared very knowledgeable and professional, with a passion for plants. She was also very playful and sweet with my daughter who enjoyed being acknowledged by her new friend.
I was able to find what I needed with ease, picked up some last minute Christmas gifts, and also purchased some kids gardening equipment to get my daughter excited to pot our new indoor plants. Adriana was there to ring up my order, explain the REWARDS program, and even helped me take the items to my car. Thank you for an easy to navigate store and friendly staff. We will definitely return to Pike’s for our future...
Read morePike Nurseries in Cornelius is such a pleasant shopping experience! They have beautiful plants, annuals to trees, as well as outdoor furniture and other things to make your garden beautiful. The store is very well arranged making it easy to find a particular plant you want. The staff is so helpful! If you need help knowing what will successfully grow in your garden ask any of the very knowledgeable staff members. My go-to person is Ari. She has helped me pick out many appropriate and beautiful plants and place them. Hint: take drawings, pictures and measurements with you! They will also teach you how to take care of your garden purchases. If you can’t or don’t want to plant them yourself Pike has you covered there as well. They have an excellent planting service! You can be sure they are planted correctly for the best plant health using appropriate soil additives and fertilizers. The planting team doesn’t just dig a hole and drop in the plant hoping for the best! They also have short, free educational opportunities many Saturday mornings. A staff member teaches about Container Gardening, or Choosing appropriate plants for your landscape, or Pollinators or many more topics. I highly recommend Pike for all your outdoor landscaping projects. It’s a gem in the Lake Norman area! If you happen to talk to Ari, tell her...
