Mohawk Mountain — Local services in Cornwall

This lovely state forest offers picnic areas, numerous trails, beautiful vistas and chances for viewing wildlife. I have seen black bear, deer, porcupines and coyotes along with many birds, reptiles and amphibians. No restrooms, but pit toilets are scattered throughout. No playgrounds. There is a paved road that goes from the entrance to the summit where beautiful sunsets can be seen while looking into NY, CT & MA. There are a few dirt roads only accessible in the summer. It was such an amazing trip to the top of the mountain. The trees are gorgeous even if they are naked because of winter but it is Winter Wonderland over there!!! As a bonus the climb was a all covered with snow and that was the first time I ever drove up a snowy hill!!!!
