Antique Corral — Local services in Cortez

We had the worst experience with cheryl at the antique corral My husband and I purchased a cabinet over the phone the photos the cabinet was in good condition. We traveled all the way from Nm to pick it up once we arrived she had had it moved to the back loading dock when we walked to the back one of the front cabinet doors panel was all cracked and broken up! we agreed that this was not in the shape at purchase time and we did not wish to have the product and would greatly appreciate her refunding our hard earned money. Cheryl was sooo Rude and disrespectful to my husband yelling at him cussing like a 12 year old and saying that he broke it and that was a complete and utter lie! She refusing to refund the purchase repeatedly after 15 minutes of my husband calmly telling her over and over that this was far from the truth and she knew it she snatch his card out of his hand said shed give him his Damn refund and to get the hellnoutta here. Then she throws the card at him from across the counter! Shes lucky we Love God because if not this would have went South! After reading all these horrible reviews I'm surprised she still has a business license! wish we could give a a lower review but we had to put 1 just to be able to post a review!! Also want to mention she keeps harassing my husband on Facebook garage sites with her nonsense! This Lady needs to seek professional help! Horrific experince Do Not Go...

Unfortunately I have to agree with a former reviewer who mentioned the owner having a serious dislike for children (apparently true based on treatment and signs within the store) and honestly she was just salty and rude. I asked if a better price could be made on a patio set that I'd seen twice there before -- over about a 4 week period. It was in need of a serious cleaning and appeared to be outside for some time. She was quite incredulous about it and told me she'd sold 3 of the same set that week. I'm sorry, but I'd been there previously and don't believe that to be true -- sales tactic or not. Honestly what antiques store receives 4 of the exact same set? I suppose you only need one person who is willing to overpay for anything, but after making some purchases previously, we certainly won't be back. (The owner has so politely responded several months later. Please see responses to other reviews. They basically prove out my point. Perhaps it's true that several of the same set keep coming in, though I bring my dogs to the facility next door regularly and have seen what I believe to be the exact same set, in the exact same place... regardless, it was less the price than I don't need to be treated badly/rudely. And interestingly, I am quite familiar with business, given that I have my own... specializing in social media for small and medium sized businesses. But...

Spent a week buying rusty stuff at Antique Stores all through 4 corners. Montrose Ridgway Delores Durango. I am a metal/steampunk artist and had a SUV with $800 of old stuff. This is a huge place and well organized and they had many similar pieces that I had purchased out in my car, priced at 50-150% more!! I spent an hour looking for reasonable priced items and found just 3 and spent all of $35. I saw at least $300 of stuff I would have bought if prices were 25% less. I mentioned her prices were high and deluded owner claimed her prices were lowest around and even dealers bought from her. No reason to argue and besides she won't negotiate on anything. As an example one has to wonder if her prices were so low, why for example does she have over 50, identical cast iron skillets all over-priced. I know what many of her items sell for at the auctions they buy at and they double the price in their store when other dealers mark up less. No mater to me, I went down the road to Aztec and spent the rest of my budget at other shops on my way home.
