SHAME ON THEM!!! I would give them minus stars if I could. I just went out to Peoria to pick up some corn. I've been going there for years now since all other fruit stands have or are vanishing. But I was horrified when I walked out to their emply greenhouses and saw THOUSANDS of dead and 1/2 dead honey bees trapped in their greenhouses! Dead bees just littered the floors. Hundreds of poor little pollinators struggling in 100 degree plus heat to get out of a giant plastic trap!! To think with our modern "green" ideas and changing values toward our planet, that we would see a fruit stand (that depends on the money that these little animals provide for them) just leave HONEYBEES to suffer and die all over the ground is beyond understanding. Not only are these little creatures the reason these people even have this business, but to sit inside with the cash register "cha-ching, cha-ching" over and over, all the while the workers/pollinators of the fruit, flowers and vegetables are disrespected and lay in anguish and suffering, just to sucumb to an agonizing death after they fight and desperately search to get out, is unacceptable! I know that insects die and I lived on a farm, however this was appalling to see these little creatures, a cornerstone species, hovering desperately trying to escape, while thousands of others lay dying or dead across the ground. The little bees see the sky though the plastic and don't know enough to fly down to the doorway. So they stay at the top forever searching for a way out. And then they get so tired and hot, they die. How sad! These might be "their" bees from "their" hives, but pollinators belong to ALL of us. And the blatant disregard, to that magnitude, of all of those bees dying in their greenhouses made me decide I will never buy from them again until they go out there and open that plastic up and let those bees get out! For GOD'S SAKE, OPEN THE...
Read moreI bought a Hermiston watermelon from here only to get home and find it was white on the end two pieces. It was just tasteless. The woman cashier told me, before I had a chance to speak, we dont give cash back on produce. I asked for another watermelon. She nodded yes. The owner? came to see what was my problem. He was less than helpful but the young man who was assisting me was doing his best. I also bought some corn. A young cashier started to charge me again for the new melon. I told him I had a receipt for the first purchase. He tried to swap me melon for melon. The first one was heavier and I asked for an adjustment. That was a task he did not appreciate. In the end the new melon and corn totaled just 9 cents more. He waited for me to find the change in my purse. 9 cents. Seriously folks. No consideration for gas or time and no apology. We're not coming back. You've lost a long...
Read moreHow have I lived in Corvallis for 20 years and never stopped here before? Heaven. On. Earth. They have all the stuff this type of market should have. Fresh flowers, fresh produce, lush hanging baskets, and amazing garden art. But it was the greenhouse full of succulents that absolutely took my breath away. Those that truly know me, know I am a total crazy succulent lady. I have an extensive collection of succulents, with a heavy leaning towards echeverrias. Especially more obscure ones. They had such a large selection of unique succulents, I cried tears of sheer joy and jubilation. All of the plants were so healthy and well cared for, unlike some of the other local nurseries. This place made my soul sing! If you cant find me, I'm...
