While there are some "high end" auctions around like Nadeau's etc, Weston's is easily the most user friendly, professional, and efficient auction experience around. It begins with RJ himself....he's personable, fair, funny, and good at the podium. He is respectful to his regular dealers and treats one timers with the same respect. His book keeping is second to none and I believe his wife is a part of that. His staff of "runners" are hard working and loyal. The crowds are friendly and his format is truly what makes his auction unique. He calls the better items first as numbered lots and then allows bidders to bring up box lots of items from dealer tables for a minimum bid of $25. I have been in the business as a semi-serious hobby for 20 years, and I am extremely impressed with what the Weston family has built in such a short period of time. It takes hard work, street smarts, and personality to succeed in this type of business, RJ, his family, and his staff bring it every week. RJ came onsite to a program I was managing at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods to do a live auction for the company's charity.
