Eisenhauer’s Tioga County Harley-Davidson — Local services in Covington Township

Contacted this dealer through Cycle Trader. I live in Vermont and attempted to put together a deal for a 2018 Road King Special. Sales person Helen seemed nice enough but very slow to respond to texts and communication in general. I have my own financing though my personal bank, simply needed to trade in my bike and pay for the new one.

It took 4 days to have an actual conversation. A conference call between myself, Helen, and sales manager Cody commenced wherein I was told that if I came to purchase the bike with my own financing, they wouldn’t sell me the bike because they couldn’t trust me to perfect the lien. From the explanation given by Cody, all I could ascertain was that they didn’t want to conduct a deal where I wasn’t going through Eaglemark and Harley credit. The have “rules”. He continued to offer to set me up with Harley Credit which I was specifically and purposefully avoiding because of higher fees and much higher interest rates than from my bank.

I left the call and refused to do business with this dealership. I spoke to my bank and was given the following response from the senior loan officer...

“ I have never once heard this from another dealership in my life. I’ve done loans for members purchasing from all kinds of different states. We are the ones who perfect the lien once we have all the documents from the dealership – which is why we would roll tax, title, and registration into the loan because you will pay that at the VT DMV when you go there to register the bike.

I don’t want to speak poorly of the dealership but from my experience they are 100% trying scare you into financing with Harley – presumably because they get some sort of dealership credit if you do. If they won’t take a cashier’s check we could potentially do a wire transfer but they would need to release all of their wiring information to you…”

Avoid this dealership. It’s one thing to make money; it’s a business, that’s their job. It’s another thing to get greedy and attempt to force a customer’s hand into financing choices they don’t...

I wish they were as transparent with me as they have been with other customers! I am glad for Tioga Harley Davidson that they have impressed other customers! I, on the other hand, have had a very different experience! I purchased a 2023 CVO Road Glide in the tune of over 50k… I was not permitted to test drive the bike! When it was delivered I did not like it from the get go. I didn’t like the heaviness and the foot controls as I heal shift. My shoes or boots did not fit under the break pad. I decided to trade it for the street glide in the same color “whiskey neat”. They informed me that Harley Davidson stopped making the bikes in that color and there was no way to get one. They refused to work with me on my trade for the platinum 2023 Street Glide. I really didn’t want the platinum but was willing to make a deal! They LOWBALLED me significantly! Other dealers offered me 3k more than than they did. I purchased the 23 CVO Street Glide in Platinum from Fingerlakes Harley Davidson! Now I find out they got a Whiskey Neat CVO Street Glide in. This means they completely and deliberately lied to me! I placed a post of my experience on Facebook and Rob from Tioga HD finance called my supervisor and tried to get me fired from my employment! No lie! Rob was informed that the Facebook page is a personal page and has no bearing with this company! It was dirty and completely wrong to do to anyone! Not that it had any impact or effected me in anyway. Their pettiness and actions are absolutely repulsive! I would not refer anyone to Tioga Harley Davidson! They are shady and irresponsible! I started my search for an Ultra Classic Low over a month ago and searched with many dealerships. I travel for work so I searched both local and within 2 1/2 hours from my home between 3 states. When I spoke to Helen at Tioga County HD she was both professional and pleasant. She got me exactly what I wanted from a sister dealership, arranged delivery, showed excellent value and benefit with both price and service. I couldn’t have asked for more, the quality is up to HD and to date I have not found that to be an issue. It was an event day when I arrived and I met Helen on the porch eating her lunch, she even offered to stop and take care of me right away. However, the free Bar B Q.... (before tip) was calling my name also. We had a meal that couldn’t be beat and I found that “You can get anything you want, at Alice’s Restaurant...... or in this case Tioga County Harley Davidson! During my visit I met with everyone at Tioga County Harley Davidson, Cody “Sales Manager”, Parts, Service, Technicians, Counter Sales and it was easy to see this type of excellence was the culture of the dealership, and the way they go to market. In this day and age I find very few businesses which place customer service at the top of their list and deliver.
