Country Basket at Sunny Slope Orchard — Local services in Crewe

My sister and I purchased the $18.00 basket of peaches. There were 20 in a basket. The man working said the basket we were looking at was good but he immediately removed a very small peach from it and replaced it with a larger size. I Pulled a solid white one from the basket and asked to replace it. He did and immediately took the basket and began putting them in a paper bag. We purchased additional items totally approximately $70. When we got home my sister and I divided the peaches. She remarked some had soft/bruised spots not realizing how many were like that. So far out of my 10 only 4 were not mush. Six were like smashed peaches you would use for maybe cobbler. They immediately mushed as you held them. My sisters are the same way. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE THE BUCKETS! The option of choosing your own peaches was not an option. Total waste of money. The picture is of the fifth and sixth peach I tried to eat. Maybe 2 1/2 bites from 2 combined. Wish I had taken pictures of the other 4 but just threw in...

I am so excited to see they have Sunday hours. So many small markets close on Sundays and that's the day most people are traveling home!

The staff was friendly and funny. This is just a small 1 room market with outdoor stands, as well. Small gravel parking lot with room for a trailer or camper, just take your time getting in and out of in a larger vehicle. Parking lot is safe for motorcycles.

The variety was amazing. Sauces, jams, syrups, pickled produce, ice cream, fresh produce, crafts from local artisans. The cherry BBQ sauce was excellent, the peach hot sauce even better! All the fresh produce was quality! Prices are reasonable and match other markets.

I've been coming for YEARS❣ This hidden treasure needs to be checked out. I first started coming for their scrumptious peaches, then they started adding their delectable and addicting sauces, dressings, preserves, jellies, salsas, etc etc! I stop there EVERY time I head to NC!! And on the way back home! They also have eggs, apples and veggies of the season. But their PEACHES are OMG juicy and delicious. Always buy extra to eat on...
