Miss Wanda is absolutely nothing short of a florist virtuoso! And her heart is nothing short of Angelic. I unfortunately had to lay my mother to rest a week ago. I looked for flower shops in the area of the funeral home. Many listings but Flower Patch & Lil Patches of Kountry really stuck out to me for some reason. When I called to place my order, I was greeted by a very kind and warm voice. I explained the nature of my call and instantly her kindness and heart kicked into overdrive. Miss Wanda was deeply and genuinely understanding and sympathetic to my situation. She wasn't just like that because of her business. She was like that because, that is who she is. Kind, gentle, and down to earth. She shared her story with me and I knew she really understood. She treated me with compassion and talked to me over the next couple days as if we were long time friends. You could really tell she cared so much. To me that's the long lost art of running a business. Then if it couldn't get any more comforting, when I drove 3+ hours to go to the funeral, I wanted to stop in and thank this very kind woman in person. But she left early in the morning for deliveries. On my way to the funeral home I must have passed her and didn't realize it. Shortly after I arrived so did Wanda. There were quite a few people there as she brought in the flowers and spray that I ordered. And I must say that not only did the arrangements look like the do on the website, they looked 10 times better than online! Somehow, she knew it was me out of all the people. She set down the spray and walked over and gave me a big bear hug of sympathy. I cried and said thank you so much for everything. We both exchanged talk about our losses. And gave me one more hug before leaving, saying ", In time, you will find healing, but your mom has the best healing of all". Then this Angel turned and walked out the door. I don't live in LaVale, MD but I encourage anyone and everyone to order your flower needs from Miss Wanda. You absolutely can't go wrong. And if I'm in need of sending flowers in that area again, you best believe I'm going to the Flower Patch. Avoid, this shop especially on high volume holidays, unless you like rude unprofessional people and not receiving your order at all. I placed a web order the week before Mother’s Day. One batch of flowers to be delivered to my mom, another to be delivered to my wife. Scheduled the delivery to happen the day before Mother’s Day because I knew my mom was going to be out of town and my wife and I had plans for the afternoon of Mother’s Day. Delivery day comes, and they called my mom to see if she was home to accept the delivery, but let her sit waiting on something I found out later was never going to be delivered that day. When I called around 8:00 pm the owner was unprofessional and rude and informed me they had too many orders to guarantee delivery on a specific day. I was also informed that no other flower shop would do so either. This information is conveniently missing from the order confirmation, and if it’s on the website, it’s not noticeable. Also, other flower shops have never failed to deliver what I have ordered on the day they were supposed to. I’ll admit her attitude angered me, and I became unpleasant in response. I told her to just deliver both to my home address and I would take my mom’s to her when she came back from her trip and I hung up. The owner’s response to an angry customer was to make it worse by not delivering anything at all. It’s a shame I have to write such a negative review for this place because I have done business with them in the past and have until now been happy with the final product but this level of unprofessionalism can’t be overlooked. For our mother’s memorial service we ordered only one large flower arrangement since the service was to be in a small chapel. I called no less then 5 times and 4 months in advance . I was very specific in that My mother’s favorite flower was Lillies . I asked for white and pink Lillies some roses filled in with babies breath for about $300.00 arrangement. I was mortified when we saw the arrangement. With the service starting in 10 minutes we had no choice but to continue . The arrangement was about 3 dozen daisies with a few roses. I never would have said the word daisies at all much less 3 dozen being that daisies were my mother’s least favorite flower. We could not have been more disappointed and upset. We also orders 3 low table arrangement for the memorial dinner again the women never listened at all to what I specifically asked for and also we paid a lot for these as well. We never asked for our money back. We can never redo our mother’s memorial service but it will always be a crushing day because of this shop’s extreme...
