The D’Iberville Community Center (originally the community club) is owned and managed by the City of D’Iberville. The facility includes a commercial kitchen, an elevated stage with stage curtain, tables and chairs for nearly 400, separate dressing/training rooms, a roll-up loading dock door, and an entry foyer. I recently had the opportunity to act as the chairperson for a scholarship fundraising event. We planned seating for 225, had an Elvis impersonator, a DJ, a video presentation, a historical exhibit and display area and and a meet the author book signing. The event theme was “Dancing Through the Decades” was fun and exciting. Each corner of the facility was decorated with a scene from different decades. They made great photo opportunities and were fun to create. The City is named after the founding explorer Pierre Lemoyne Sir d’Iberville - he showed up too!
