All employees in the store were extremely rude and unwelcoming. No one welcomed us when we walked in. No employees acknowledged us except to rudely rush us out of the store, and to speak to me in a belittling manner. We walked in around 8pm to do some quick shopping for clothes for my boys. We selected things, they tried them on, and we hurried out. While we were in the boys dept, the employee working in that area constantly stayed by us, straightening right beside us making it clear that she didn't like that we were there, constantly sighing annoyed like, giving us dirty looks, and never once greeting or offering assistance. Then when 8:45 rolled around and they announced they were closing (i honestly thought they closed at 10, or we wouldnt have even been there that long), we were rushing to finalize our selections and clearly rushing out. She still felt the need to rudely tell us that they were closing and that we needed to finish up n go to the registers to check out. No this was not due to us making a late noght mess in the dressing room or anything, we dont do that, we politely and neatly hang everything back up and place it where it is supposed to go on the return rack, and we were buying most everything tried, so not much was placed there. We were clearly already leaving at that point, so we continued heading that way. We then got to the front of the store where one register was open. It was 8:52 at that time. As we waited, a manager rushed around the store speaking rudely to employees and customers alike. One customer tried to come in at that time and she rudely told her they were closing. She then asked if anyone has a credit card purchase to where I stated I'm using my Kohl's card. She said with a sassy, belittling way, "A Kohl's card IS a credit card!" and snidely told me to go check out at customer service. I asked the lady at customer service (who was checking us out) if she was a manager to which she answered yes and made nonstop excuses for the lady's beyond poor attitude, stating that corporate had been in, it had been a long day, she was retiring soon, etc etc. I have never been treated so poorly in any Kohl's. I also used to work retail and retail management. I can say now, that I was completely appalled by this whole experience and by every interaction that I had with employees there last night. I spend hundreds at Kohl's regularly and I can tell you now that I have zero intention of returning anytime soon following this experience. The lady standing at the customer service counter, who was doing nothing, said they are only servicing from one line… I asked if anyone in the line had a return, where no one responded. I turn to the worker at the return counter and she still said I needed to get in the line of 40 people. A worker standing around by the door with short hair spoke with a big grin on her face, “maybe you shouldn’t yell at a line full of people, they are probably too nervous to respond.” I had not yelled, but lodged an inquiry with the group without sounding angry. I shared that I understood that she and the team may have had a long day, but there is no reason to make us wait an hour in a checkout line where no one else had a return. She shouted “have a nice day” on my way out to rub it in. Lol! Our civilization has become too docile.
I would like to add that all of the clothing sold to us two weeks previous still had their magnetic tags on them. Poor customer service, procedure, and behavior. I will no longer do business with them and will make sure everyone I know hears of my bad experience if Kohl’s is ever brought up in...
Read moreDropped by to purchase some dress slacks for work. Immediately greeted at the door by employee at customer service. A wave and a smile does wonders! The next employee that I saw directed me with a smile to the correct section of the store that I needed. Store was clean, well stocked and easy to navigate. Found the dress slacks that I was looking for but only 2 of the size that I needed. Went to customer service to enquire about possibly ordering a 3rd pair and the wonderful lady, who had greeted me earlier when I entered, told me that she would check to see if there were anymore slacks of that size in stock. Computer told her that there was 1 more in stock in the store so she called for assistance from an employee in that department. Even though I was skeptical, within minutes an employee arrived with a smile AND that 3rd pair of slacks that I needed. Wonderful shopping experience!
