I am a loyal customer and have bought my last two vehicles from here. Iāve always had a good experience up until my brand new Arteon started having coolant issues and thatās when all hell broke loose. I brought my car to the service department 5 or 6 different times and dropped my car off with them and they gave me the run around every time. They could NEVER find anything wrong with my car but yet my coolant was continuously dangerously low and leaking somewhere but we had no idea where. They told us āoh itās just a VW thing, we get these in all the time! Well, thatās not normal and a car shouldnāt just be leaking coolant, especially a brand new one. We had to FIGHT for anyone to do ANYTHING for us even tho my car was full covered under warranty. We were promised trade assist in the beginning and possible buy back and that it wouldnāt be an issue for us at all but boy were we wrong. After dropping our car off for the 6th time with more coolant issues, we were told to come pick it up and that there was nothing they could do but I wasn't allowing that. I had Contacted the assistant service manager multiple times after that with no return phone call or text. I finally Got the service manager involved and thought that would make a difference. Wrong again. He seemed helpful at first and told me to bring my car back up there yet again and they would get corporate engineering involved. So I did. Apparently that time no one was ever canāt get when my car sat there over night once again. They told me they were waiting for corporate to get back with them and I picked My car back up so I wouldn't Be without a vehicle again. After that, I didnt hear from them at all. I tried Contacting them multiple times with zero response. After 2 or 3 weeks, I called the GM of the store and demanded something be done with my car. He told me to drop it off the next morning so I did. My car sat there for 16 days before it was even TOUCHED! Within those 16 days I had To continuously reach out for updates because I never Heard from them. Sometimes I would Get a response and sometimes I wouldnāt! I had To be the one to initiate any updates at all. When they finally got back with me, they told me they were going to replace my entire transmission as a first attempt because they didnāt even know if thatās what was wrong with it. I had So many questions. After they finally got started on my repair, I was Told it would be a days job and then I never Got an update after that for days. It ended up taking 7-8 days and I had to continue to contact them for any update at all. I was without my car for 28 days!!! I had Already mentioned a buy back a LONG time ago because I didnāt want a brand new car that needed a whole new transmission. After picking my car up, I was Told they would stay in contact about the buy back decision and yet again I never Heard from them. So I eventually Had to contact a lawyer and tell them I would Take matters into my own hands. I am STILL fighting this dealership.A couple days before mentioning my lawyer, I contacted the service manager and told him that my BRAND NEW transmission was slipping and gave him allllll of the details and he NEVER contacted me back about it. No phone call, no reply. So I have a 50k car with a brand new transmission that isnāt working properly and canāt even get the dealership to reply to me about it. This has been THE worst experience of my life with a car dealership and the worst customer service I have EVER received. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from them and they will never get my money. If I were You, Iād...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst visit, first impressions. Subject to change of course. Recently moved from SE Michigan to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Though they are the ONLY VW dealership in the area, I've not heard (online) anything bad about them. I visited the facility, talked directly to the service manger and one of the mechanics about service and they got me in the same day and were quick with the cars service needs (oil change and tire rotation). Facility appeared to be in good order and staff were kind and energetic. The one thing I will miss is the Michigan facility would loan you a car if it was an all day job or in the body shop. A couple of customers in the waiting room informed me this dealership not only does not offer loaners, they also do not have a shuttle. I didn't ask so I could not confirm this. So, if there's ever a reason to leave my car there for an extended period of time, this may result in a lower rating.
Most recent visit: Jun 2025: 2019 VW Atlas SEL Prem-31k miles but took car in for it's 6 year and last service/oil change on the service contract I purchased when I bought the car new. On line scheduling was no problem. Got a reminder the day before. Showed up right on time give or take a minute and they got it right in. I left for some lunch. Oil change was completed and I was advised it was my last "free" oil change. Was also told (something I already knew by the way) was I had missed a couple of past oil changes. Mileage wise, I did, time wise, I didn't but I didn't pay attention (nor told by my VW Dealer in Michigan) that I had to use them either by the time line or mileage, whatever came first so it was nice VWOSM noticed, but not much they can do about it anyway). I feel VWOSM is reasonable with it's service prices and I feel that my car is good hands. Saying that, I will have no desire to take the car to a non-VW service dept for oil changes. I opted to wait for the car so it didn't take them long at all. At my request, they also changed out the orig car battery as it was 6 years old. Though the cost of the battery was reasonable, you will be charged a EPA fee for something along with the fine (cost) of having a car so darn dependent on the juice from it's battery, they must transform the battery to "work" with the car's needs. I know, sounds dumb the way I put it but I own a 2011 Minivan and 2009 Jeep. A couple of 10mm closed/boxed end wrenches and no need to pay someone to stand over it with a magic wand make it work correctly (or whatever magic snap-on tool they use). Windshield replacement/realignment of safety features, I can understand, but seriously, a battery? Have these things gotten so touchy? IMO, the worse that SHOULD happen is I loose my favorite radio stations and have to reset my clock. But these guys were SOOO good, didn't have to reset anything so I guess I can't complain other then it was not cheap. As for that EPA fee, I wasn't informed of that charge till AFTER the work was done and it's not a REQUIRED government fee, it's a VW/Dealer imposed impact fee put on the customer. But hey, at least my old battery was still good and they gave it back at my request. Maybe that's what the EPA fee was for? All that said, I was satisfied...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have never felt the need to review anything really, but after my experience over the last few months with VW of South MS I finally felt the need. In August, I went to VW looking to purchase a new car. I found a nice, used 2013 Passat that I liked. I explained to the salesman Adam Firth that I had to go into work at 2 p.m. but that I would be back. He proceeded to harass me the entire day about the vehicle, questioned whether I was really at work and was generally overbearing. But, I really liked the car so I let it slide. I bought the car two days later. However, it wasn't until after I signed the papers and Firth was walking me out to my car that he tells me the car hadn't been detailed!!! WHAT? To not tell a customer until after all of the papers have been signed is so deceitful. Who wants to walk off the lot with a dirty car? But, Adam said no worries when you come back in to have the windows tinted we will detail it. I also told him the cigarette lighter was broken. He said we can fix it when you come in for the window tinting, too. The next week, I went in at 11 am to have the windows tinted, the car detailed, and the cigarette lighter fixed. The service manager told me the cigarette lighter actually work and I was putting the charger in the wrong. I'm 27-years-old... I know how to use the cigarette lighter. But, at this point I'd been there for so long I didn't want to argue. I left at 3 p.m. without a detailed car and a broken cigarette lighter. Again, so disappointing. The next month rolls around and I have to get the 60,000 mile service done on the car. Again, I sat and waited for over 3 hours to have my car serviced. I was given at $300+ bill for that service and was NEVER asked to clear any of the work they did on the car. That trip they actually determined I was correct and the cigarette lighter WAS broken and then proceeded to charge me for the fuse. Three months later, I land at 10:15 pm in New Orleans and arrive to a car that won't start. The car that I purchased only three months ago had a bad battery. I will take the blame for this one-- I should have made them check the battery in front of me before I bought the car. But, all this to say this is the type of dealership that will sell you a car with a bad battery and then charge you over $200 to replace it. It also took me two weeks to get a copy of my warranty. I really like my car, and I wanted to like VW. However, my experience thus far has been anything but pleasant. Attached are photos of the car the day they told me they would detail it and didn't-- this is the shape it was in when I drove it...
