Dahlonega Gold and Pawn — Local services in Dahlonega

So I ordered a gun from Dahlonega Armory.. The gun was a Taurus 605 357 Magnum T.O.R.O. with an optics mounting plate and hardware.. The gun did not ship directly from Dahlonega Armory,, It was dropship from a place in Minnesota just as most of the reviews here alluded to.. I received no tracking information on the gun after ordering it.. Actually the gun arrived at my FFL without me knowing it had even shipped yet.. My FFL contacted me to come pick the gun up And when I got there the optics plate was missing.. I contacted Dahlonega Armory and let them know what was going on and they told me to contact Taurus.. It appears to me that this store has a very hands-off approach to customer service.. Everything wrong with something that you bought here has something to do with someone else other than them.. It appears that nothing is their fault.. I sent them a couple of emails in regards to other issues I thought I was going to have like shipping issues and they did in fact answer me immediately.. Like I said the gun arrived to where it was supposed to be in about the amount of time it should have taken without me having any knowledge of it shipping whatsoever though.. The box had obviously been open and the contents of the box definitely moved around.. The optics plate was definitely missing and the hardware was still there so I don't know why somebody would have taken that by itself.. I also don't understand why it would have been Taurus's problem to replace it If it had been taken out by someone else.. If I got the box and the gun was missing was Taurus supposed to give me another one?? Anyway this was the best price on the internet..The communication was in fact excellent..My only problem was them passing the buck at my time in need.. They have a 20% restocking policy which makes it just about impossible to send it back considering what my problem was,, which is why I believe they have this policy.. The overall experience would have been five star and this would have been a place I definitely would have gone back to but believe me when I tell you that will not happen at any price.. My only advice is shop at your own risk.. I could see why this place has very positive reviews as well as very negative reviews,, ones that I have to believe after my own personal...

Sadly, I’ve done business with Dahlonega in the past with no problems…until now. I placed an order for a rifle and during checkout my FFL dealer was not listed so I selected “Dealer not listed” and paid for the rifle. I received a confirmation email from them thanking me for my order and stating in bold writing that I have 5 days to send them a copy of my FFL dealer’s license. I had my FFL dealer email them his license a few hours later, however between that time I received an email from McKenna at Dahlonega informing me that my purchase had been voided due to no FFL selected during checkout. Needless to say I was a bit ticked off. Does she/they not know their own policy? I took my business elsewhere and will not be doing business with them in the future. McKenna, learn your job please.

You know what...I’m a customer…or used to be (and a business owner BTW). In retort to Dahlonega’s response, I have the following to say…First off and bottom line, have you heard this before??? “The Customer is ALWAYS Right”, as well as your customer service is abhorrent. You took my order, didn’t reject my order when I selected it on your website with no dealer selected (why have your website checkout allow me to proceed past this???) and charged my credit card, but wait!!!... Deal not done, Dahlonega decided to VOID my legal transaction without even the professional courtesy of calling (wait, do you do that these days?) or EMAILING a question regarding my FFL dealer’s license. Simply stating “I have voided this order because no FFL was selected” WHAT…REALLY??? Why do you have that option on your web site during checkout??? What’s really confusing is that they (Dahlonega) will let you check out through their “secure”? website and then say no deal. I have done business with many other FFL companies over the years where they give the opportunity to provide your FFL’s license within a reasonable amount of time without cancelling (VOIDING) your order abruptly and without any reasonable cause. In fact, the same rifle I just purchased from a competitor seller had the same “no dealer selected “ at check out and I selected it with no issue getting them my dealers FFL the following day HUH??? I received an email showing local dealers with the Remington 870 DM Tac-14 12 gauge in stock. It showed Dahlonega Gold and Pawn so I made the fifteen minute drive to check it out. WOW, is all I can say.

SERVICE: Top notch! Despite the store being super busy with people making gun purchases and shopping the service was better than any other dealer I have visited. The young lady who helped me is a family member of the staff and knew as much or more about guns than most people. She showed me each weapon I was looking at and assisted with the purchase. These are the type of people you want to deal with.

SELECTION: Amazing selection. The store is small and from the outside you would not imagine the stock level they had along with a full selection of rifles, handguns and accessories. They do also carry all types of ammunition in the most common rounds.

PRICE: Simply the best prices you will find, online or retail. If you live three hours from this place, it will be well worth your drive. I purchased a gun that would have easily cost $400 at most online or retail dealers. I picked this up for $299. The prices on everything I looked at were lower than any competitor I have seen. The great prices combined with the incredible, knowledgeable, friendly customer service makes any gun purchase from Dahlonega Gold and Pawn a no-brainer.
