Eastbound and... Closed?! 😂 If you're a Smokey and the Bandit fan, this place is a little slice of movie heaven! The one building is totally gone but the Rock shop is still present. We rolled up excited... only to find it closed. But don’t worry — there's a handwritten sign that says “Honk for service,” which made us feel like we were in the movie ourselves. We honked. No Buford T. Justice. No Bandit. Just us and the tumbleweeds. Still totally worth the stop — even if only for the laughs and nostalgia. Next time, Bandit, we’re catching you open! 🚓🍻🎬❤️✌️

This was such a wonderful stop on our adventure in Helen. The man who runs this shop is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. We hope you have a very merry Christmas sir, and will definitely be back on our next trip :) Thank you for all the wonderful goodies your shop has to offer. We can tell you really have a passion for gems and minerals, it's so refreshing after going to so many money hungry shops down here in South GA. P.S. the Geode was beautiful, my son just cracked it open and loves it!

This was the best store we went to in Helen! Its a few miles outside of town but is a MUST if you are in, or near Helen! The prices are much better than most other stores in town. It is a cash only business, so be sure to have some cash with you. Doug (the owner) is such a great guy and has some amazing merchandise! Meeting him and shopping at his store was the highlight of our trip to Helen!

Daughter was EXTREMELY helpful, very knowledgeable about rocks and gems, and is very friendly/welcoming.

The father is not in the market to sell items. Some rocks were prices a little high, but some other things are wayyy out of value. They have a good sized chunk of uranium glass on display for sale, normally valued around $200-$300. The daughter couldn’t remember the price so she called her father who informed me it was priced at $5,000 because if a little piece was taken off and faceted then it is worth $1000 for that piece.

He showed me a piece that had been faceted and while it was pretty, it could be recreated for $75 -$100 using the same type of glass.

He has a Fenton uranium glass cat priced at $1000 and it’s worth about $100-$150

The father isn’t one to try and negotiate either due to his attitude.

A majority of the actual rocks inside were priced steeply, but some small pieces were good. If you step outside, all the “rocks” on the table are actually cullets of glass waste and not an actual rock.

If you’re going to go here, be knowledgeable on prices so you are not taken advantage of...
