Tonight me my wife and our 20 month old son traveling from Colorado to Texas visited XIT for dinner. After reading multiple great reviews and some good reviews, we decided to try it out. The staff seemed friendly and the restaurant looked clean when we walked in so we were pleased with that. We tried to order the bread that everyone raved about and were told that they no longer had that bread anymore, that was our 1st disappointment. We decided to go with the New Rolls and give them a try (a $2 charge) They brought them out with regular butter and cinnamon butter. I guess they are trying to make them like Texas Roadhouse, but they didnât even come close to that mark, and BTW, Iâm not saying Texas Roadhouse is a high mark but their rolls are pretty great, IMO. They werenât even warm enough to melt the butter and they didnât have a great taste either. This was our 2nd disappointment. My wife ordered Mac and cheese for our son and they brought that out promptly, which was very nice and he enjoyed it just fine. They also didnât have steak prices on their menu so we had to ask how much they were and when we heard that their 14 ounce Ribeye was almost $54 it blew our minds. This isnât a 5 start steakhouse or even close to the level of a Texas Roadhouse or Salt Grass and they are trying to charge that much for a âTexas Cutâ Ribeye. It wasnât even listed as Choice or Prime. What a joke. So, we decided to order cheese steak hoagies for $15.99. These came with onions, green peppers, and Swiss cheese. My wife ordered hereâs with lite on the onions and green peppers, I ordered mine, with no green peppers. It took a little longer than we expected this type of food to take but not super long to come out. Hereâs was loaded with both peppers and onions but they did get mine correct as far as no peppers, but they hardly put any cheese on mine. We didnât want to send anything back because we were in a hurry to eat and get back on the road. They over cooked the ribeye on both of ours including some pieces were even crispy and tasted like a grill that wasnât cleaned very often. The hoagie bread that they put it on, even it seemed a little bit stale. My wife ordered sweet potato fries for her side and they were tasty. I ordered steamed broccoli for my side and it was either old or a bit overcooked. Our waitress was very nice throughout the whole experience, and we greatly appreciated that. So as you can see we were mostly disappointed with our experience at XIT and probably would not go back there while traveling back and forth...

The place is busy, and I would assume that it's popular. We were welcomed by friendly personnel and that was heartwarming, considering that we had a long drive, most of it in Kansas with 35-45 mph winds, and at times limited visibility. My husband and I ordered Cowboy Sirloin Steaks - his medium-rare and mine, medium. The fried cheese curds with marinara were good, our salad was mediocre. Here's where things went south: I had to step into the "biffy" and as I came out our steaks were placed on the table. My husband seemed satisfied, except there was no sour cream for his potato. I ordered extra sour cream for mine and only received barely enough for one potato. I reluctantly gave him half of mine. Now, as a local Google Guide, I like to picture the food. Hmmm, something didn't seem right. My husband's steak was three times as thick as mine and mine didn't have the hot pink center that I'm accustomed to. I took a bite and it seemed dry. Wait a second! Not only did it not look like what I ordered, it looked like something no chef with any sense if pride would prepare! I looked at the temperature pick and it said M-WELL. How could this happen?! Suddenly, everyone disappeared - our server, the M'atredee, the lovely lady who greered us. My husband flagged down the M'atredee and explained the situation. Our server came back and although he offered a half -hearted apology he didn't believe me until I showed him the pick that identified the temperature of my steak. He looke at his tablet and said, "Oh, yeah...that is what you ordered. I'll send this back." A young lady came by our table and promised a new steak within minutes. No comp was offered, nothing in the order of what would I like while waiting, all while my husband enjoyed his dinner. At least another 15 minutes passed and still, I had no main entrée... My husband is on his way to McDonald's, because he insists that I shouldn't go to bed hungry. It breaks my heart to leave a...
Read moreThe good, the bad, & the ugly: My son, his girlfriend, & I came in 4:10 Saturday 8-13-22. We seated ourselves in bar area as sign said, we were promptly greeted, drink orders taken. Food was good, service was attentive, courteous, and friendly. The GOOD. Where we were seated, there were 6 other people at tables, 2 guys at the bar looking looking too sunburned, & tired to care, 2 other ladies, & a younger man with a takeout box. Behind the bar, there was a black haired woman, little or no makeup, big sloppy Tshirt, if she was wearing a bra- it ain't doing what it's intended to do. Hair looked roll out of bed. No music was playing that we could hear. She as playing to the 2 ladies, loud, & inappropriate for the place. The more they laughed, the louder they got. We, as well as those around us couldn't carry on a conversation due to her banter. It was loud, obnoxious, & inappropriate. She finally disappeared, & I spoke with a sweet lady behind the bar who told me the loudmouth was their general manager! I complained, gave her my name, number, time, & date,& asked she forward it to the owner. The Bad/The Ugly. My son is a Jr music major at Tech, & a trainer at Texas Roadhouse. He can do everything except cut meat, & cook. 5 year employee. His girlfriend is a music major at Tech, a server at Texas Roadhouse, 4 years experience. I managed a successful auto shop 13 years, special division manager Walmart 10 yrs, Customer service, producer, trainer, office manager All-State 10 yrs. We know what we're saying. This type of leadership is toxic. It hurts the servers attitude, & tips, thus turnover. It gets in the kitchen causing poor quality, timely preparation, & attitude. Then the restaurant goes down the drain. This was my 4th visit, we spent over $100 for 3 people, tipped %20 for good service, pain & suffering. I encourage the owners to reach out to me. The GM is either blackmailing, a relative, spouse, or sleeping with someone, cause she has No business there. The review would be a 5 if...
