Really disappointing. I spoke with one of the equestrians there when I arrived and she said sometimes the website will glitch and not give you an appointment even if you do everything right. Without a confirmation email you have nothing. Honestly, I can live with that. Tech can be weird sometimes. What I really didn't appreciate was the gentleman I spoke to on the phone who apparently handles situations like mine. He was rude, didnt let me really speak. What's funny is he also claimed he wasn't sure what happened during our one-sided conversation. With all due respect, you can't know what happened if you don't listen at anypoint during the conversation haha. At one point he even tried to tell me I only clicked on the 'waiver' option and not the 'book online' option on the website. The only issue with that is I wouldn't show up or had known there was a 10am appointment available for that day if I only clicked on the waiver option. I knew because once you clicked on 'book online' it provides a calendar and you're able to see what times are available each day. I didn't just show up randomly. Lastly, I just felt like he didn't want to be bothered. Even at the end, there wasn't a "sorry for your inconvenience" or any sort of energy that reflected he wanted to try to right this situation regardless of what happened or whose fault it was. At that point I wanted to leave. I had no interest giving my money to...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience with Ascend Camp & Retreat Center, specifically due to the appalling customer service provided by James Petreas. Despite my efforts to remain courteous and understanding, James was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout our interaction.
I had booked a horseback riding session online and was charged on my credit card, but I never received a confirmation email. When I called to confirm my booking, James was dismissive and unhelpful. He seemed irritated by my inquiries and refused to assist me in resolving the issue. I believe there is an issue with their booking system, as he claimed I had made no reservation, even though I could see the charge on my card statement.
In the end, I had to contact my credit card company to cancel the charge because I refuse to give my business to individuals who treat customers so poorly. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.
I strongly advise others to book at their own risk. The lack of professionalism and respect displayed by James Petreas is unacceptable, and I would hate for anyone else to go through a similar experience. Look elsewhere for your horseback...
Read moreMy review is based on the management of Ascend Horseback Riding, not the riding experience or lesson instructors. I booked a lesson in January 2024. The lesson was canceled due to poor weather conditions, which was understandable and the instructor communicated professionally. Due to scheduling difficulties, we were not able to find a new time to reschedule. I was offered the opportunity for a refund, which I accepted and initiated the process. Since that time, I have been unable to receive a refund. I have exchanged 5 emails and spoken to Jim (mgmt office) 4 times. There has been limited follow-up and at times, unprofessional communication from Jim regarding my request. As of today (3/2/24), I have not received a refund of $90 for a lesson I did not have. I hope my experience is an outlier and others have a much better experience with taking a lesson. However, I would suggest moving cautiously when purchasing lessons from...
