One of the best fall family farm experiences around Charlotte! Plan to stay several hours and pack a picnic or budget for snacks and homemade goodies at the stand, because you won't want to leave! First of all, Lineberger's has a nice LONG hayride with a recording about the history and workings of the farm. Along the hayride, they have added several signs identifying areas of interest around the farm and other fun facts. I think this makes it well worth the price, and engaging for everyone. They have three play areas: one at the top of the hill near chickens to feed (food is available in a generous portion at the farm stand for 50¢) featuring sand boxes, swings, a slide and a household item percussion station; one near the farm stand with a maze and corn pit, and more swings; added onto as of 2021 is an expanded play area in the woods behind the blackberries with a really BIG "S'Worm" slide, and other stuff we could see but didn't get to. Also as of 2021, there is a teepee with info about the Native Americans who used to live in the area (yes, they did mention that the Catawba and Cherokee nations did NOT live in teepees!), and a learning center--maybe these were there in the past, but we hadn't noticed them. Sadly, our three hours at the farm didn't allow enough time to get to the learning center this trip because my kids just didn't want to leave that corn pit! 😄 However, the learning center was full of kids spending lots of time discovering and playing in there the whole time I was watching/waiting for my kids in the corn. Fall is probably the very best time of year to visit, because there are festive fall touches and decor everywhere and photo ops galore! Everything has been freshly repainted and spruced up for the fall season, although we've enjoyed visits year-round for blueberry picking in the summer as well. We have been strawberry picking, but I don't think we timed it right because we just haven't found really sweet, plain strawberries here yet. Also, expect a more "rustic" experience during those extremely busy spring and summer months on this working farm. One other note about the fall specifically: I appreciate that all of the decor and seasonal touches are just autumnal rather than Halloween-y. This isn't surprising given the family's faith culture, but it is very much appreciated and refreshing not to have spooky or gruesome imagery to have to navigate with the youngest kids or just people like my family who don't celebrate Halloween. Just good fall fun! And if you homeschool or are considering a group or field trip, Ethan and Frankie, the younger husband and wife duo in charge of the lesson and hayride, do a fantastic job--engaging, hands-on, and patient. Frankie's style of simply encouraging observation and questions truly facilitates meaningful learning for kids, and she's so knowledgeable about the farm and its workings that I haven't seen her stumped by a question yet. Her enthusiasm and personal love of the farm is evident and contagious. I guess we've done at least four field trips there, and we've learned something new every time. This farm is gem, and while all of the ones I've visited in the area have unique features and awesome people, Lineberger's is the one we have been happy to return to several times a year for...

UPDATED REVIEW! The produce and pickles were delicious. Unfortunately I had an awful experience that WAS NOT LINEBERGER'S FAULT and was the perfect situation to raise concern. The (very nice and helpful) girl claimed the card reader was not working and typed in the card info. The next day all of these fraudulent charges were made on the card (Walmart, FootLocker, etc.); we did not know until tonight when the bank called. The card was not used for over a week and the only charge made by us was the $24 and some change at this business, it was not used (by us) since and the card is in our possession so it is not lost or stolen. I left a review and messaged Linebergers on Facebook and they got back to me quickly. They took my information and investigated. The day after they reached out to me I learned my personal debit card was also compromised, a charge of $304 To AirBNB. When we were at the store I used a $20 bill and my mother swiped her card for the rest. So LINEBERGER'S did not have my personal debit card info. Therefore I am certain that our card information was obtained by an RFID reader used by a patron at this store. I do not hold LINEBERGER'S accountable for this. I will continue to support their business, it was just a series of unfortunate events. I now have RFID blocking products in my wallet and purse as people will be taking advantage of this "coin shortage" and promoted use of using cards to pay for goods/services.

I appreciate Lineberger's time and attention to this situation. Their customer service is just as excellent as...

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Lineberger Farms, an experience that will be etched in my memory for years to come. From the moment we set foot on the farm, it was evident that this place is more than just a destination for quality fruits and vegetables; it's a haven for families to bond and create lasting memories.

The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly watching my grandson explore the vast expanse of the farm. His eyes lit up with wonder as he ran through the fields, touched the fresh produce, and interacted with the natural surroundings. Every corner of Lineberger Farms seemed to offer a new adventure for him, and the joy on his face was priceless.

The farm's commitment to the community is evident in the quality of their produce and the warm and welcoming atmosphere they've cultivated. With free admission, it's a gesture that speaks volumes about their dedication to ensuring that families can enjoy quality time without any barriers.

We spent about an hour at the farm, lost in nature's simple pleasures. The staff were incredibly friendly, and their passion for their work was palpable. It's no wonder that Lineberger Farms has garnered so many 5-star reviews on Google.

Our trip to Lineberger Farms was filled with family fun, laughter, and exploration. It's a place where you can reconnect with nature, relish in the beauty of fresh produce, and watch the younger generation discover the wonders of the world around them. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wholesome...
