Grumpy's Antiques — Local services in Dalton

Holy huge batman. This place seems small when you get there and their parking spots belie what is inside. Even the entrance seems unassuming, but what you do not see is the warehouse behind all that. Its like the Tardis.

Location: Exit 341 off Interstate 75 either on the way to Atlanta or on the way to Chattanooga. The driveway is almost miss-able and you are better off cutting through the Mapco parking lot to get there than trying to find the tiny entrance.

Inside is a multi-booth bonanza AND antique cars/trucks/machines. I came away with 2 treasures, each only $5, but prices for larger items can get up there.

Be sure and stop and smell the waterway that runs right alongside their business which looks from the front like an old log home converted for the purpose with awesome picturesque windows. Perhaps they can convert to a wedding venue if they ever sell all...

Just because the name of the place is Grumpy’s, it shouldn’t be necessary to have a grumpy chubby guy working the cash register. I miss the nice lady who use to work there. This guy starts screaming an hour in advance that they are closing and keeps yelling it like an ill tempered cuckoo clock over and over. Even worse than that was how he treated a mixed race couple shopping there. The woman stated over and over the man was her husband and yet chubby, grumpy had the nerve to ask her were they really married. Seriously? It’s 2023, not 1923. I use to enjoy shopping here, but this is my last visit. It’s rough for the vendors, but I can’t patronize this business anymore. And speaking of vendors, he complains when people buy a lot of items. I think he would prefer vendors sell less so he can work less. That is not what they...

I absolutely love this place can stay in there and look for hours but the people working downstairs have very poor attitudes. It’s almost as if they were grumpy. The lady downstairs didn’t want to help me look at rings then, when I mentioned she must be ready to go home because her face just looked so miserable she decide to tell me about the customer before me how they took 30 minutes, looking at rings and her having to open each door to look I mean that’s her job ? & they guy at the register had a bad attitude. They seemed aggravated that some of the stuff we had didn’t have a price on it and they was mad that we even asked if they could find a price on it for us ..They was just very negative and we spent 1000s in the shop.. The place is great, but their customer service sucks. They Acted like they hated their job...
