My favorite bookstore, for sure, and it’s all about the owner – Michelle. She’ll do anything for her customers. For those of us who seek a real relationship with a book shop, and view it as something much more special than just your typical store, this is your place. If she doesn’t have it, no problem – she’ll find it for you. If you’re not sure what you want, no problem – after talking with you for two minutes she’ll have no shortage of smart suggestions designed just for you. I love the look and feel of the place – every inch of space is put to use just like Shakespeare and Company. This is the kind of place you’d find in Greenwich Village or Martha’s Vineyard. And she’s very supportive of talented local authors. (Including this one! 😊). Come check it out. Get to know Michelle. You can’t help but root for her and this wonderful literary journey she’s on. I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle and shopping during the opening week. The store is stocked full of numerous wonderful titles. And if you can’t find a book, Michelle is so helpful to locate it for you. The prices are very reasonable and they also have sales and deals all the time. And Michelle is so wonderful to talk to and a pleasure. I am very happy that an Indie book store has opened in Danbury. Thanks Michelle for giving us this great store, your sweet company and a chance to do right by independent stores.

Not to mention, they also carry beautiful journals and coffee mugs and cook books!

The BookSmiths Shoppe is my new "happy place!!" This gem of a shop is a must-visit for readers and book lovers in the area, and for those bibliophiles who love a road trip that ends at a simply fantastic bookstore. Michelle is wonderful - helpful, funny, personable, and knowledgeable. She does everything she can to get your desired book into your hands, and makes fabulous recommendations.
