I grew up in this area and was excited to see a meat market out here when I came back to visit. I got my first ribeyes from here 3 months ago.I think the owner was cutting the ribeyes. I told him I liked a lot of fat & marbling he went to the back and came back and said you’ll love these. I bought 3 thick ribeyes and he was correct they were the best steaks I’ve ever had. Amazingly tender and wonderful flavor. I’ve been talking about these steaks to everyone that would listen and looked forward to getting some more for the family. I went in today and it was some other guy cutting the steaks. I told him about the other guy going to the back and getting the good cuts and I didn’t mind spending the money. He said it’s all angus beef. I should of left however I really wanted the experience I had the first time. I bought 4 steaks $18.99 a lb around $85. Again price was no big deal as if it’s good I would spend $30 a lb. Grilled and the steaks were cooked perfectly from medium rare to medium depending on request. I was so disappointed. The steaks were tough and I understand that some beef can be a bit tough however these steaks had absolutely no flavor. They also had a strange color as if had been frozen and at least two family members stated it was like biting into steak with water in it. These members had the steaks that were medium rare. So...

I was very happy I stopped by. They have a selection of deli salads and drinks as well as cake but the meat offering was more than I had expected for the area. They have some seafood selections even fresh in-the-shell oysters.
The pork country ribs I purchased were so flavorful and juicy after a quick sear. The country ham was just the right thickness. I wish I had tried their ground sausage. Next visit for sure.
The beef was fresh. I got a porterhouse and pan seared that as well. Very flavorful and tender. I usually salt my steak slightly a day in advance but it was hard to wait. I've included a picture of the steak just as I set it into my skillet. Check out the marbling.
They also have a selection of jams and jellies, some candies and fresh vegetables.
I don't know anything about the owners but the place definitely has a small family country store feel to it. Very welcoming.
I know this is a very long post but one last thing...
They carry boar's Head meats and sell prepared to order, ready to eat, hot dogs as well as deli sandwiches.
Definitely check...
Read moreI usually get a sandwich from them, but on Friday, I decided to try their sub. Same thing I get on a sandwich just on the sub bread. It was awfully made. The tomatoes were layed on top of the sub. It was plenty of bread but little meat. When I went back in the store as I never left the parking lot. The lady that claimed she made the sub got an attitude immediately because I told them I didn't like how they made their subs. Okay, I understand that's how they make their sub, but since I paid 12.00 for it and I don't want that. So I asked if she could put it on a sandwich bread. The lady walked away still with an attitude. Leaving another lady to fix my sandwich for me. This man comes out and asked me what's wrong and I told him the same. He proceeds to say that's how we make our sub. Once again, that's fine, but I don't want it.!! Then my sub wasn't made right in the beginning it was missing things that I asked for. I was disappointed and I wanted to get my money back, but instead, they just lost a customer. Need to be more understanding with customers. And the lady definitely needs better...
