⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A True Gem in the River Valley - The Lion's Den Golf Club! The Lion's Den Golf Club in Dardanelle is an absolute must-play for any golf enthusiast visiting the Arkansas River Valley. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with a sense of history and a beautifully rugged terrain that makes for one of the most unique and challenging rounds in the state. The course layout is fantastic, with impressive elevation changes and strategic hole designs that reward thoughtful play. The back nine, in particular, offers some breathtaking views—it's easy to see why this course has such a legendary past. While some of the greens present a fun challenge, the course as a whole is a true testament to the beauty of Arkansas golf. Beyond the course, the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home. The entire atmosphere is relaxed, which only adds to the enjoyment of the round. For the value, the experience is unbeatable. If you're looking for a memorable round of golf with great character and stunning scenery, don't miss The Lion's Den. It's a fantastic, hidden gem that delivers a truly five-star experience! We can't wait to come back!

I was very excited to play this course. Asked over facebook to confirm my tee time, drove 90min, and was told in the Pro Shop that the greens were not playable. Well..we drove all this way so we played. Every green was ruined from the "winter". After reading the reviews more thoroughly, this was a problem in 2022. Seems as if maybe new management is needed. This course has beautful views and would hate to see it not suceed.

I called the Lions Den golf course on a Monday to inquire about playing golf the following Sunday. It was the first week in November so golf had very much slowed at this point. The girl I talked to told me no tee time would be necessary and to come anytime on Sunday. I informed her we would be there early Sunday morning around 8. The day before I called just to double check and she said her no problem no tee time needed. Hours of operation show from 7am until dark basically. I drive right under 2 hours and arrived about the same time as my buddy who also drove the same distance plus about 20 min. I think it was around 8:15 at this point. Hey never hurts to warm up before a round. The parking lot was empty. The pro shop, Empty! The whole place abandoned. My friend and I pondered what must have happened, where to go from here, should we try and walk the entire course. I called the number listed multiple times. I mean like 15 or 20. So since all that failed we traveled up the road to Gala Creek. It's about 35 min back the way we came. After we arrived I decided to try one last time. This girl finally answers to which I am are you guys open? Of course she says. I hang up pretty mad at this point it's 9:30 or so. The nice girl inside then informed me the Lions Den apparently has a problem of showing up to work on time. Wow wish I could do that at a job. Don't waste you time or money on this course. They could care less about you playing there so why should you care about...

Just played it today. Had been looking forward to playing it since last year when I found out that he had a course Just outside of Russellville. When I got there, they were Grass clippings from the fairway and fresh blown all over the middle of the Practice green and then it was mowed back over and no flags out on it. I thought OK they just haven’t blown it off all let that go. But when I walked in, it was like I was disturbing their break in the pro shop. They were driving about the other one, not mowing and being inside sitting for an hour granted it was hot. But you don’t do that. Almost like I was an inconvenience. But then I got out on the course there were weeds growing in the greens. The greens were almost completely dead, large clumps of dead grass all over, not including the fact that the fairways on some of the holes look like they haven’t have not been mowed in weeks I Lost four balls on the front line due to this and two balls on the back line due back condition. I seriously have had this course on my expectation list for well over a year and a half finally got a chance to go out there for $43 for 18 holes in a cart was severely overpriced. It’s more like and $18 course. Sad to say but I hope John does come down and turn this course around and some of the people that’s working there as well because it is in very very sad shape and I hate to give it a two out of 10, but yeah, I’m not highly...

I can't believe any of these reviews that say the course or greens are in good shape! First off I am a John Daly fan. I had big expectations for this course. It was easily the worst maintained golf course I've ever seen. Greens were 80-90% sand with a few sprigs of grass here and there. One even had a thriving ant metropolis in the middle. Decent weather and we were one of two cars in the parking lot. Poor conditions = less golfers and less golfers = less money for maintenance so I can't believe it will improve. Disappointing and sad.

We played the first 3 holes and the young girl running the pro shop came out and told us there was a severe thunderstorm with lightning approaching. We would have to quit with no refunds or rainchecks. She showed me her phone which showed lightning strikes in the area. I pulled up the Weather Channel on my phone and saw no such thing. I told her we would play number 4 and come back to the clubhouse and see from there. After playing 4, we returned to clubhouse to find it locked up and she had gone home. We played the rest of the round with zero lightning, thunder or rain. I believe she had saved a screenshot of imminent weather on her phone to convince people they needed to leave so she could go home early.

Mr. Daly,...
