Copper Ridge Golf Course — Local services in Davison Township

I hadn't played the course in a couple of years and thought id give it a try, with my son, who recently started golfing (he is not bad at all). I had a couple of their own coupons, advertising 9 holes with a cart + $10 food voucher, for $30, so i thought...why not, we will play 9 and grab a bite to eat. I called ahead and asked for a tee time, as late as possible, before the league. He gave me a 300pm time, which was good, and would allow my son to get there after work, but before leagues. Once I arrived, they wouldn't accept my coupons. There was no expiration date, but he told me that they are trying to get rid of those coupons. Golf was still $30 a person, but now we were without the food voucher. I was upset, but accepted it. Then. It was so backed up, that we couldn't even tee up until about 320pm. They over booked. On the second par 5, there were 5 groups on the hole! 4 some on green, 4 some behind them, 2 some ahead of us, on tee box waiting, us on tee box waiting, and a 4 some league, also on that same tee box. It was ridiculous. The guys behind us were complaining that all these people were ahead of them, for their league....so we felt extremely rushed....but couldn't hit, becaise we had to wait for those ahead to move. Also, the course is not in very good shape. It hasn't been for at least 4 or 5 years. It used to be fantastic. Not impressed. I feel the price paid was too much, for the quality of course. I was erked the whole time that they wouldn't even accept their own ad coupon. Total bait and switch. * MODIFIED REVIEW. A few weeks ago, I spoke to the manager and we were able to determine that the coupon i had was for Fridays only (though it was not expired). I was playing on Tues June 17th, so I would not have been able to use it. I should NOT have been told (by the employee on staff) that "we are trying to not take those (coupons) anymore". Regardless, the coupon issue is resolved. However, it did not resolve the issue with the extreme overbooking on the course. We were on the tee box before our tee time but we didnt even get to tee off for 20-25 min after.... and the pace continued to get worse. As I stated on the second par 5, there were 5 different groups on the same hole! One on green, 2 in fairway and 3 on tee box. The weather that day was clear and sunny, so it wasnt related to earlier weather backlog or delays. The manager stated that he would talk to his employee and follow up with me, but I never received a call back. I will upgrade my review from 3 to 4 stars but I feel that is a bit generous. Im upgrading because the coupon issue was not the fault of the course, but the overbooking/backlog, pace of play, and condition of course (for the money) was below average. It should be priced at least $5 less, for 9 holes, which would put it in line with other area courses of the similar or slightly better condition. I understand that there were some issues when the course changed ownership a few years ago, but the condition is still nowhere near where it was...

We had our wedding here… Kevin was so difficult to work with. The only way to get him to return calls was if you left him numerous messages with a staff member because his voicemail was always full and he does not respond to emails. If it wasn’t for my family helping it would have been terrible.

The day before our wedding the venue was dirty … my family had to wipe off the dirt on the windows and make a list of items that were needed for the next day. Kevin said it would be done that night which was fine except we were still wiping off cob webs and requesting someone to vacuum the floor a couple hours before our event started.

I requested a specific timeline for booze to be served … they did not follow this instruction (even though Kevin confirmed) and cut it off at the wrong time. As the bride the first chance I had to get a drink was at dinner … one staff just stared at me and the other rolled her eyes then handed me a drink.

Kevin did not call me until the week before my wedding day to get numbers and food/booze. I tried emailing him and calling him prior to see if I could give him this info but he never returned my call. When I gave him my order he told me that he couldn’t get me the one beer I wanted because it was too late to put in the order. After asking him to please try a couple of times he finally did it.

Lastly the day of our wedding … most staff working our event were rude, seemed annoyed by just being there, and we’re not welcoming...

I had my wedding reception here earlier this month. For the venue, I would give it four stars for location, appealing décor and layout, and wait staff/cook. However, the management I would give one star (because zero is not an option). My mother worked with the manager Kevin the most and told me he could be rude, but that did not prepare me for dealing with him. He was very condescending and continuously cut me and my mother off while we were talking. He talked circles until we were confused. Friday night (the night before the reception), we went there to decorate. The place was filthy. Confetti from a previous event covered the floor. The dance floor was sticky. There were cobwebs (and their spiders) in between chair legs and corners. When we asked Kevin about it being cleaned up, he stated that it would be done after we were done decorating because he stated, "I know you will make a mess and I'm not paying to have it cleaned twice". I conceded that this might be reasonable, so I asked when he would be done next day and he replied it would be cleaned by 3pm. At 4:30pm guest began arriving and there is a picture of family with a lady vacuuming behind them. Also, the spider web between the chair legs was still there. I recommend the place only if you can work with someone other than Kevin. The food and drinks were delicious and the wait staff were...
