DG Market — Local services in Dayton

I go to this location often bc it’s the only place within walking distance. If you go on a Sunday, or Monday you’ll likely find what you’re looking for. Any other day of the week, you’ll find yourself SOL. They almost never have items in stock. They rearrange the store regularly... literally they move the item locations monthly. The store has no organization whatsoever. It’s common to find an aisle that has half of the household cleaning products, and then find the other half of their selection in a totally different aisle. All of their name brand laundry products are kept behind the counter because of thieves but there’s no display for them either so you can’t actually see those products at all. I rarely find items with correct prices. They have default type price tags on the shelves but they rarely match the product you’re buying. I’m usually shocked when I see an item that has a label marking their advertisements sales for the week. Clearance products are thrown about the store and never have prices. If you ask someone a price, they will look at the product and tell you “it’s $_” based on what the printed price says on the packaging instead of actually scanning it. Because apparently they think sales prices update themselves on the products packaging. Several of their aisles are always blocked with those big rollers packed with items they haven’t restocked yet. But they stay blocked. all week long. I can’t recall a time in the last several years that the aisles were clear. This store is an accessibility and osha nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend going unless you depend on them...

Poor service… This Store is a set up fraudulent store. My son started working there in September of 2025. 2 week after he started… they fired 2 managers. A week after they fired the 2 managers… they falsely accused my son of stealing..$1500 !!!.. A woman by the name of Holly.. came into the store and asked my son did he take any money … she did not have any footage of my son doing anything wrong. When my son asked to see the footage…. Holly never could show him the footage. So the manager of the store … a lady named Lori .. that is currently employed & is still the manager of the store, never addressed my son that day about any money being taken … 3days later… The Holly lady the on that said, she was a District Store Manager.. called my son & told him that they had made a mistake…& that they knew he did not take any money….& asked to come back to work. That’s when I told my son to tell Holly… No Thank you. You accused him of stealing … $1500 . Then think he would want to come back to work . Nope he quit. Then a month later … they send a civil lawsuit from a Lawyer… trying to sue my son for the money that they said he did not take … I’m getting my son a Lawyer and The Dollar General is going to have another lawsuit. This store gets no stars from me …keep you children away from this store. Do not...

THIS LOCATION IS PATHETIC AND NEEDS SHUT DOWN! ITS BEEN REPORTED FOR NON STOP ISSUES FOR 2 YRS AND YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE BUT YET A COUPLE MONTHS BACK THEY MOVED THINGS AROUND WHICH DID NOTHING FOR IT, IT DOESN'T LOOK BETTER OR ANYTHING, ITS STILL VERY NASTY, SHELVES ALWAYS EMPTY WITH ALL THE BOXES BLOCKING ALL THE ISLES WITH THINGS ON THE SHELVES AND LEAVING OPEN ISLES WITH NOTHING ON THE SHELVES, FLOORS EXTREMELY NASTY, WORKERS SUPER LAZY AND ONLY HANGING ON THEIR PHONES LISTING TO MUSIC THE WHOLE TIME. IVE NEVER BEEN IN THIS STORE 1 TIME IN 2 YRS WHERE THE ITEMS WERE PUT ON THE SHELVES AND NOT LEFT IN THE TOTES AND BOXES BLOCKING THE ISLES.
