Islamic Village Market — Local services in Dearborn

The one star is for the good meat. 0 star for customer service. I was introduced to this shop over a decade ago. I occassionally would return annually during Ramadan. They should change the store name because the customer service does not reflect it. In agreement with other reviewers, the butcher is rude and general customer service is complete obsolete. There is a young tall thin butcher, who is despicable. I came the other day to buy lamb. I gave him my order, he blew me off and took care if 3 other people who was after me. I was standing there waiting thinking he was helping me but just blew me off after he came to me to ask if I need anything. It started with me standing in line for minutes and you ask me if I want anything....no I'm just standing here exercising....duh! They acknowledge you with this condescending lack greeting. They make you feel unwelcomed and an inconvenience. I support small business but this place is trash in customer service. Its several times bad service from the butchers to cashiers. I'll never return. I'm coming during Ramadan all the way from Birmingham, Mi. I guess coming to an poor area renders poor...

I’m a black new revert to Islam from another country . Seems to me they might be stereotyping all black people. I could do the same to them. But Islam teaches me differently. I came in there with my white husband and even he noticed the cashier or owner was watching us like a hawk yesterday. I understand you don’t want anyone stealing. Your business is in a predominantly black area if you don’t trust or like black customers don’t put your business there then smh . Unfortunately this comes with owning a business and you have to be tolerant with people regardless. We Spent like $200 usd don’t think as a black Muslim I would ever come back and support this store . I know you can do just fine without our money . But you have the Quran in the store try reading and learn how to deal with your customers . Maybe you can learn...

Wish I could tell you the vibe felt good here. Very disappointed. First time in this place to buy lamb, chicken and a few random items. Few customers made the family feel uncomfortable. Couple of rude butchers didn't seem like they wanted to serve us, let regulars go ahead of us. We don't speak Arabic, tried to be polite since we weren't in a rush. Cashier snatched card from my hand and forced receipt into my hand. Wife didn't like the environment, I didn't feel comfortable, hopefully the product we purchased will be more forgiving.
