Bring quarters to feed the fish! The DNR workers are very great with kids and generally if they have the time, will stop and explain what they are doing; don't always expect them to though, they have work to get done and sometimes are counting so chatting with then can throw off count, be respectful! The big ponds hold the bigger breeders but don't have much of a boundary for kids so keep an eye on smaller kidd or people who are clumsy. You can sometimes see eagles flying around and walking the stream is nice, however, generally it's being fished so watch out for anglers. The waterfall us neat but again, be careful of little explorers around the spring and stream as it's slick and no guard...

Completely Wonderful Place for any type of person! You wanna fish? Go Ahead! Great fishing here and you tend to always catch something when you come here. You want to go walking? This place is just for you! There are so so many places to hike and walk around just admiring the nature. This place is always kept up and never dirty. Great place to take kids, friends and even for a date. I am a photographer and this has to be top tier spot for taking photos of nature and all the different creatures of it. The Waterfall is beautiful and there is also very cool statues to give you a warm welcome...

This place never fails to amaze me. If you've heard of the Decorah Eagles, you know where the Fish Hatchery located. We rodw our bikes on the trail that does an approximately 12 mile loop, the hatchery is home to a whole bunch of trout, different breed and different sizes, all fes through a huge natural spring. This is a "must visit" spot in the Driftless Region, not only for the eagles, not only for the fish ($.25 gets you a handful of fish food), but for the beauty of the region, on full display here! I highly recommed this spot as we'll show up again...
