E.F.G. Orchids — Local services in DeLand

Be prepared to be in awe, if you’re a plant enthusiast. I drove over from Daytona, so it took about 40 mins. The drive through a long, country road threw me off a little, but once I arrived at EFG, I understood... The Orchid is on a farm, surrounded by nothing but trees and animals.

I chose not to do any research prior to going, as I wanted to be surprised AND SURPRISED I WAS. Upon entering, you are met by hundreds of rare plants hanging from the ceiling and the walls-it truly was breathtaking.

I spent a few hours looking around as there was just so much to take in. So many specialty plants, that you won’t find at your typical box store nursery.

I ended up buying two plants that I’ve never had before, so one of the staff members took some time explaining how to care for both. The prices are reasonable, and the selection is by far the best in the Central Florida area.

Amazing place to purchase beautiful indoor plants (I also think outdoor plants are sold here too, but I was only looking at orchids so I can't comment on all the other beautiful plants they had). Quinton helped me out BIG TIME with an Orchid arrangement I was struggling with. They had so many beautiful Orchids and all the supplies necessary for making a beautiful display. Paula (one of the owners) was so kind and helpful that I decided it would be worth the hour long trip over and boy was it! I can't wait to go back again. This place, nay, this paradise, is like the Garden of Eden and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon all in one. If you love plants, this place is a MUST visit. If you don't love plants, visit EFG Orchids anyway and by the time you leave, you will. Don't let the name fool you. While they carry a large array of gorgeous orchids, they have so much more than that, including many plants that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else, and their prices are very reasonable.
