I've been going for years, and it was great. Recently, not so much. The parking is a nightmare. Last year some young kid tried parking me in a ditch. I ended up finding my own spot. This year, some lady parked me. It was awful. I even saw a truck 2 spots away that she had them close his tailgate to put an SUV there, but some people were allowed to take up a whole parking spot for their canopy. 🤷♀️ I still remember the name of the guy who parked me years ago, and he was great. Even years after he first parked me. His name was Mark. Y'all need him back so he can show the newbies how it's done. I'm sure it's money related since he knew what he was doing, but ya'll get that in your new pricing where the admission tickets don't include pits unless they're ordered by a certain date.
I ordered the $8.00 large fries, and they were cold. I asked to get fresh hot fries, and the guy behind the counter got an attitude. I don't think I got fresh. I think he dropped my cold fries in the oil, heated them up, and gave them back to me. I can't prove it because the lady at the counter was blocking my view of him.
I didn't even get to see the Kenny's race. I didn't know why until the day after. ☹️
Do better Volusia Speedway. Y'all used to be about the fans, now it seems it's...
Read moreAre you looking for a good time on a Saturday night? Then you should head to Volusia County Speedway. Regular price admission won't break the bank at $12 per person. First Responder and Military get in for just $10. I don't recall the price for children, unfortunately. The staff all have a positive and fun attitude and demeanor. Food and drinks are reasonably priced as compared to other race tracks and convenience stores. (Their profit margin isn't nearly as high, which is good for the consumer.) There are other vendors on site that offer a little more 'eclectic' of faire. There are souvenir stands and beer stands as well. The bathrooms, albeit clean, are not air conditioned. Which, on a hot summer night, you don't want to linger in. Just go in, do your business, and get out. The seating is open and unreserved on a typical night, so get there early to pick out your favorite one and enjoy watching racers as they tune and practice with their cars. The car count for each division is fantastic on its own and especially when compared to other local race tracks. So there's plenty of action to pay...
