Ok… so let me start by saying I read many of the negative reviews AFTER my initial consult with Dickson. I had decided to move forward from the initial meeting, but hadn’t signed any contracts yet or paid any money. Upon hearing such negative things across multiple platforms, I screenshot them and sent them to him to have a serious discussion about my doubts/concerns. It’s a serious financial investment and I had serious trust issues… most certainly after seeing the negative reviews. Meanwhile I had several other companies come to give me estimates. My gut still told me to go with PPAS. In Feb 2022, having been satisfied by discussions with Dickson and given reassurances, I signed and moved forward with PPAS and ordered my pool, which he promised would be in the ground by mid June 2022 (hard to believe, but I trusted him).
Late April 2022– Dickson delivered on his word. My pool shell was complete and ready to install.
May 11, 2022- my yard was excavated and pool was installed (ahead of schedule). Install was complete in ONE day!
Early June 2022, after pulling permits workers came to install the plumbing and electric to the pool. Because of where my boiler room is, they had to trench through my front yard to get around to the pool. So be mindful of that. They did backfill after inspection and we seeded the trenched area. The heater was then installed, pumps turned on, and we could officially swim in our pool (though no decking yet)
July 2, 2022- concrete decking was poured.
July 6, 2022- Pool School happened
Bottom line— Dickson and PPAS delivered on their promises and I couldn’t be happier! Allison and Alex in the office were professional and helpful throughout the process. I live in Maplewood and will gladly show my pool to others who are considering.
Things to note to manage your expectations:
-heavy machinery will moving about. Expect some wear to driveway perhaps (my asphalt was old and worn already) and certainly expect the yard to be torn up due to excavation. I have a double lot and 80% of my back lawn was torn up to install a 16x40 pool. It’s to be expected We are sodding it now.
-significant payments are due AHEAD of the work being done because things have to be ordered and paid in advance. This is normal.
-I upgraded to install deck jets and automation to control the pool and hot tub from my phone. It’s TOTALLY worth it.
-Expect some additional cost for fencing, landscaping, dirt removal, water to fill pool and additional decking if you want more than the 3 ft including with pricing. I also had to pay additional for extra feet of electrical and gas lines (50ft included).
-Putting the pool in was the fastest part… but expect some weeks to go by as plumbing, electrical, gas, decking and other things take place (see timeline above). But to have started the process in February and be FULLY done by July 4th is AMAZING whereas other companies gave an estimate of 12-18 months before we’d have a finished pool.
-I assume many of the negative reviews were due to COVID and supply chain issues. However, I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience. As me for, I am fully satisfied and would...
Read moreAfter speaking directly with several references and visiting local pool installations, we opted to go forward with Premier Pools. I must admit I was a bit skeptical of the proposed timeline during COVID knowing how messed up the entire supply chain is. My wife and I worked directly with Dickson Munds and I found him to be very professional and honest. Tbh, a little bit pricier than others, but I am old enough to know "you get what you pay for." I was delighted and surprised at how well the installation went overall. There were problems that arose mid project, but this is to be expected. Supply chain issues were very clearly explained to us in real-time, and I completely understand that such problems are outside of Premiere's control. Dickson was on top of everything with excellent and frequent communication. When the robot pool vac we purchased was on serious back order, Dickson upgraded us to a better model for the same price. When onsite construction issues came up, Dickson took care of them promptly. I never heard an "excuse" but instead heard there was a problem that has since been resolved. Open, honest communication, which is a rare thing these days. Overall workmanship is A+, and the finished product exceeded our high expectations. Our personal experience with Dickson and Premiere was absolutely terrific! As a consumer, I sometimes wonder if five star reviews are solicited by the vendor. This review is not solicited, and is my honest opinion on the experience we received. Buying a pool is a major investment. If you would like to speak with me directly (or even come see my pool in Hunterdon County), please DM me. I am THAT happy with...
Read moreWhat can I say besides the team at Premier Pools and Spas exceeded my expectations. The process started in July when I reached out to a few companies to begin discussions about installing an in-ground pool. Allison was the first, and only company to contact me back, and within a few days, Dickson, the owner, came out to the house to see the area and design a layout. Because of the large investment I was about to make, I did not want a pushy salesman, and Dickson was not that at all. He understood the costs and did not pressure me at all. By the time I gave them the green light, it was the middle of August and I had one small request, to try have the pool completed by Thanksgiving, and they could not promse because of the weather (freezing temperatures and rain, etc.) Well, here we sit on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving with my pool heater turned on ready to host a Thanksgiving pool party.
The entire process was seemless from the design, to budget, to execution, every contractor that was given a task completed it flawlessly. We only went over budget on the conrete (which was by our choice). From start of construction to finish was just over one month and I could not be more thankful.
Thank you very much to the team at PPASNJ and know that if you ever need to show a pool off, or need a reference, you are always welcome to bring customers...
