I came to visit today with a friend to visit the pumpkin patch with our children. Upon arriving and asking about admission we were given a straight “No” and told to come back at 2:30 when the school buses were gone. That was absolutely not a problem and I was understanding of that, what I didn’t take kindly to was the tone of voice and body language that was being given. As an African American woman I already feel a way coming to predominantly Caucasian places because of being profiled , receiving different treatment , or being overlooked in general. If your of African American descent or even a shade of brown please just go somewhere else . I hosted my daughter’s first birthday here this past summer, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Michelle and Priscilla were wonderful to work with—booking and using the space was seamless. The kids loved feeding the goats and visiting the donkeys, and we all enjoyed the beautiful summer weather while celebrating with friends and family.
