In town for a funeral and several of us met at this restaurant for dinner. My wife and I ordered shrimp fajitas to split and two glasses of water. I asked for the onions to be well-done and flour tortillas (occasionally find a place that serves corn tortillas).
Shrimp came out on a large plate with the onions barely cooked and I reminded the waitress for flour tortillas. She informed us they do not have tortillas. I told her this is just a plate of shrimp and onions, to which she agreed.
I go to pay after the meal and mention to the cashier (who was working in the kitchen) that someone should have informed us when we ordered fajitas that you were out of tortillas. She stated the fajitas don't come with tortillas and that's why it comes with Texas Toast. I explained to her what fajitas are, to which she said she knew, but their fajitas don't come with tortillas. I asked why they call it "fajitas" and she said, "because that's what they are".
Now it feels like a skit from Saturday Night Live.
At this point it seems pointless to mention the meal didn't come with Texas toast, as she stated, but instead it came with French fries.
After she rang-up the "fajitas" and gave me the total I noticed it was a few dollars more than I expected, and this is when she told me they charge for water. I politely recommended she remove the charge for water since we received no tortillas with our fajitas, nor the Texas toast. She reluctantly agreed.
Another member ordered an appetizer sampler, which looked, smelled, and tasted like the grease hadn't been changed in a month. Needless to say, the whole group was very disappointed.
Now I understand why the lady working at Best Western had such a difficult time recommending a place to eat in town. If the Old Ranch Steak House was the hesitant suggestion, then I can't imagine what the other restaurants are like.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but you may be better off with fast food while in...
Read moreMy family and I decided to try this place out, it seemed nice from the exterior/interior. The waitress who turned out to be the manager was friendly and attentive. The issue was with the food and their reaction to it. My wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was almost engulfed entirely in what seemed to be water, it was runny like cafeteria food. My steak was supposed to be medium, was well done actually. My veggies were hard and under cooked.
My daughter ordered fajitas (which they don’t even offer tortillas in their restaurant so you get a plate of meat labeled as fajitas). Her fajita meat was cold and didn’t taste good, easily could have topped it at home with cast iron and some spices. The only good part of the meal was my steak was pretty decent and so were the cheese sticks we ordered as an appetizer. My wife informed the manager of the problems to which she replied sorry, and proceeded to charge full price. My wife said we would never return and the manager showed no sign of caring. This place was pretty much empty around 1pm and I can see why. It took close to 30 minutes to receive our food and we had cold and under cooked food. The other comments are correct the people in this place don’t care at all about the service...
Read moreThe steaks and veggies were severely over cooked. The steaks were ordered medium, eating the steak was like chewing rubber, because they were beyond well done. The vegetables were so over cooked it was like eating mush or baby food. Color was almost completely cooked out of them. The highlight was the salad bar. You can't mess that up because you make your own salad. For the price they charge on the steaks you would think they would know how to cook them......
The upside is the inside is very cozy. Dim, comfortable and clean! The staff was very nice and attentive. I wish they would bring their cooking up to their...
