My recent visit to Maple Hills Orchard near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota was absolutely delightful! The picturesque orchard, nestled in the heart of nature, provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable day out. The weather was ideal, enhancing the entire experience.

The staff and fellow visitors were incredibly friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their hospitality and knowledge about the orchard and its produce added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit.

The highlight, of course, was the opportunity to pick fresh, delicious apples right from the trees. The apples were of exceptional quality, bursting with flavor. In addition to apples, we had the chance to pick grapes and raspberries, allowing us to indulge in a variety of fresh, seasonal fruits.

The hayride was a fun and relaxing way to explore the orchard further. The scenic views and the pleasant ride made it a memorable part of our day.

The orchard is really peaceful and not commercialized. It was definitely worth the trip and we enjoyed our time.

However, a few things knocked a star off for me. The store didn't have much available and was a lot smaller than expected based on the information on the website.

There's no "Pick your own" apples. Most items in the store are not from the orchard, not even the apple juice or Maple Syrup.

There were so many wasted grapes and raspberries it made me extremely sad. I know they are "Pick you own" but why let them go to waste? They could have been picked and frozen for sale, or dehydrated/freeze dried and sold. Or even donated to local food banks. It was such a huge waste of produce.

Highly recommended. such nice staff and so willing to answer all your questions! fun games for the whole family and they sell yummy goodies made from the apples they grow! they have a wide variety of apples available to purchase alomg with local honey and maple syrup too! :) oh i cant forget...there's also beautiful pottery for sale.
