wonderful town excitement is up to the enjoyment of life in your heart . I fell in love with the city of Detroit , I grew up here Plymouth road and green field.. I fell in love with my self just being on the river walk and belisle and Shane park before all the updates in the city now its just fabulous.. when I was younger and went to Bell isle .. I was told .. KNOW your place and I said 😌 Have a blessed day. I'm glad that man that day showed me he would hurt me if I went to use the bathroom 🚻 and to know my place . We'll I am in my place and I used the bathroom . Detroit is Beautiful and I am 313 and blessed to be in the place I know. We are strength and happiness and we all love the downtown world. You can't feel the grit or the drive of Detroit.. or how hard the men and women make a life happen and get to use this sanctuary for there own place and this is including the visitors. If you aren't from Detroit and you visit you will leave our city knowing about grit ,drive and the beauty that all of the people whom live here in this town.. Detroit will leave you with strength to know your place is everywhere even in the stars .. we are together and take heart and pride for all our people every Beautiful color in the movements in life . Detroit will change your drive and you will learn what grit , drive and beauty is by the end of a family and friends meeting up together in Detroit. We are tough but we show up ,even if the cards aren't in our favor.. we show up. Having said this ,I did so for a reason. Just be kind when you come In the city and humbleness will work in your favor. This is a town of I have your back .. sit back and relax 😌 and don't be listening to the negativity about Michigan or Detroit.. we just live here by grit and drive and this is sincere.. the people from Detroit never doublt there abilities to Achive and be mighty and triumph. now I'm a pawpaw! And I still love going and taking my grandchildren to the aquarium, conservatory, and sometimes just to skip rocks and watch the big ships.
I could probably write a book about Belle Isle and all the fun I had and still have when I go, It maybe the only real treasure that's still in the city to truly enjoy!
Update the nature center has been renovated and is now open, they have snakes, frog's, turtles, salamanders, bees 🐝, and an area for bird watching all indoors, and several outdoor sitting areas!

You will cross the MacArthur Bridge which is beautiful it features 19 total arches across 2,193 feet its the main access to enter and exit Belle Isle. You do need a recreational passport but it houses the Belle Isle Aquariumis free. Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory it's a beautiful greenhouse and botanical garden nice place for weddings. The Dossin Great Lakes Museum is a must see its free but can be rented for weddings and other events. They have a nature center its free, and The William Livingston Memorial Light house is a 70 foot white fluted marble tower located on the north end of belle isle.
