I visited the Tommy Gun Warehouse for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The store/factory/headquarters is about an hour from my house. I had never been there before and I have never owned a kahr gun before. I think you might enjoy hearing about my experience there. When I went in I was met by an Asian man at the counter. He was very soft spoken, friendly and helpful. I looked at a number of guns there which he patiently explained the ins and outs of each one. No pressure, no hurry. We also talked about how bears were getting to be a nuisance in our area and some other small talk. I finally decided on the Baby desert eagle. Then I asked him about trading a Glock that I had brought along, but had left in the truck. He asked me what model and what condition it was in and taking my word for it without seeing it he made me a very generous offer. He said "we've got to get you out of that Glock!" I assumed he was the head salesman or the manager of the store because he did not consult with anyone else. Of course I was thrilled with the generous trade in which was far more than I would have expected. I went out to get the Glock and on the way back I asked my wife who had been sitting in their coffee/snack area to come back and take a look. In the middle of the store is a beautiful taxidermy display of a large lion fighting a leopard over a antelope kill. On the walls around the store were head mounts of many other African big game and some deer mounts from Pennsylvania. My wife started asking questions about it where the lion was taken and so forth and eventually asked who shot it. The salesman said he did while he was on safari in Africa. As we continued talking he revealed that he had shot almost all of the animals that were on display. At this time it occurred to me that Kahr must pay their salesmen very well if he could afford trips like that! I asked him if he was the sales manager and he said no he was not. He said he was the owner. I said, Oh the owner of this store? He said no, he was the owner of the company. My extremely polite and gracious salesman was Justin Moon, the founder and owner Of Kahr Arms and designer of the Kahr pistols! He said he just drops in once in awhile to help out. If my wife had not come over and started asking questions I would never had known who he was. Never did he let on that he was anymore than a clerk at the store. I would have walked out thinking I should write a letter to the Kahr company letting them know how pleased I was with their sales clerk and how personable and helpful he was. So turns out I bought my baby eagle directly from the owner of Kahr Arms! I stopped again at the store the other day. Mr. Moon was not there but in talking to the sales people there I remarked about how sociable, friendly and polite he had been. They said...
Read moreI was so suprised when I visted this business on 1/18/18. I have been to many “gun” stores in my time. I normally walk out shaking my head. It’s always a combination of lack of respect for the customer and attitude from the sales men/women. This busniess nailed the customer service experience. I was shocked, honestly. When i walked in , two gentlemen were having a conversation behind the counter. This conversation haulted when they saw me. One immediately ask if I had been in the store before. I was caught so off gaurd. I have never been asked that in a”gun” store before. I repiled “no”. Then Dave, an employee, gave me a full tour of the store and display counters. He spend time to understand my interests and dislikes. He never pushed product on me or tried to get me to buy something. I honestly had a great time. Dave and Bob answered questions i had about the Magnum Research 10/22s and even called the manufacturing site to see if i could order a rifle in a certain configuration. This level of customer service made my week. Heck, it made my month. I happily ended up walking out with a knife and new multi tool. Im not giving them a 5 star rating becuase of selection, although it is impressive, it doesnt incorporate everything under the sun. Hower I apprecaite that. Do what your good at instead of trying to do everything. Plus this is a flagship reatil location for Khar. So if you go in expecting to buy a Glock your silly, they do carry brands other than their own, but the selection is limited as should be expected. I am giving them a five star rating because I had the best customer service experience i have ever had in firearms retail location. I hope everyone who visits this store has the same experience i did. If all firearm retailers treated customers the way you do, they wouldn’t have such a bad repution. Great job guys! You set the bar high. I cant wait to come back with family. Thank you Dave and Bob for being empolyees...
Read moreBought a brand new Desert Eagle 1911C. Put 150 rounds through the gun and the grips that came on the gun came loose. Took it back to The Tommy Gun Wharehouse for them to look at it. Bob told me to come back on black friday for the gunsmith to look at it. When I showed up all gunsmiths were not even scheduled to be there on black friday. Bob let me know that I then needed to come back during the week by 430 500pm so a gunsmith could look at it. Returned on the next tuesday and the gunsmith let me know that they have always had an issue with the grips comming loose that were on the gun when they sold it to me. WHAT a gun dealer, they need to make money by selling their products with known issues. The gunsmith let me know I could try lock tight, a lock washer, or an o-ring to absorb some vibration but the issue of the grips coming loose during use will always return since even the manufacturer cannot fix this issue. I inquired about anything else they could do to help me and their responce was "we cannot help you, and again this has been a reoccurring issue for years and we can not do anything". Left the store completely disappointed and wondering, now i have a gun that falls apart when you use it what a waste of money and time. Although I will tell you they sure hyped up there ability to have expert gunsmiths that could take care of any issue that could or may arise after the purchase. Horrible support and knowledge after the sale, like any other business trying to sell a known faulty product so the bottom line looks good. I live locally and believe me when i say no good words will be exchanged if any one asks about the Tommy Gun Wharehose and Kahr...
