My 1st airboat tour! I read articles & researched the different airboat companies. I’m very happy I went with these people! Here’s why: I wanted to see the EVERGLADES, tall sawgrass & alligators. (Versus salt water in coastal mangrove passage ways where you’d see dolphins, etc). I wanted a small group with about 6 people. I wanted an intimate experience; not a big, commercial feel. I wanted an authentic experience, to learn about the land as well as the Miccosukee Indian tribe in this area. The tour delivered everything I was looking for. The format of our 45 minute tour was: go through the tall grass, visit a gator, visit an island, boat back. We saw 2 alligators the entire trip. The 1st 1 our guide knew where it was. When we got to that gator, it recognized our guide Garrett, the gator came up to our boat & hung out with us the whole time we were there. The 2nd gator was waiting for us at Teardrop Island, a tree island that is an original Miccosukee island that was historically lived on. While on the island, the guide interacted with the gator and we walked a short board loop trail. The airboat itself was really comfortable and seemed fairly new. The seating was bench rows with some padding on them. It was nice being able to sit close to my partner (versus being in individual chairs). They provided ear muffs to soften the loud sound of the airboat. They were comfortable. The 45 minute tour went by fast. 45 minutes felt like just a sample of the experience. If you love being in nature, are really looking forward to it and have the time, I recommend doing a longer tour. 90 minutes or more. I’d like to do this again for maybe 2-3 hours to really soak it in. Tip: check the weather. Best enjoyed in the sunshine on a warm day. (Would not enjoy in the rain.) Tip: bring water or your own beverages on board. I brought a little backpack with drinks because it was warm and you are in direct sunlight. Tip: the online price for the 45 minute tour is $45 whereas the walk up price is $50. So you can save $5 if you make your reservation online. Tip: if you want to see a lot of gators, you may need to do a longer tour. I went for a walk in the Everglade National Park in the area and saw tons of gators...
Read moreGo here!!! We had an excellent time. The boats are smaller, so you get a bit more of an intimate experience and I liked that. Our guide was awesome. He seemed quiet, but answered all our questions while giving us additional history and information. Don't be afraid to ask questions - that's how you learn cool new things! The boat ride was so fun! We went all different speeds so we got a great variety of the airboat maneuvering. It was very relaxing and fun. I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first time on an airboat - it was cool. The wildlife: I think we got lucky! 🐊🐍🐛🦆 First off, I know you're not always guaranteed to see alligators on adventures like these, so I didn't get my hopes up, and you shouldn't either. I read many reviews on other boating adventures that were negative simply because they didn't see any alligators. You can't control the wildlife people. This is not a zoo - they are wild. We saw two, technically three large female gators. The first we saw was hiding under the dock as we walked to the boat. It was a bit creepy, but keep your eyes out; they can be right under you and you won't even know it! 😳 During the ride our guide took us to a spot where there was a mother gator with her nest of babies. We didn't get too close, because -duh, mom wants to protect her kids and you gotta respect the wildlife. The second female we saw was about half way into the boat ride. Our guide spotted her and we circled in close. She approached the boat! It was surreal and humbling to see one that close! We also spotted a large crane/heron as we were boating along. Next we stopped at an old village and learned a little cultural history about it. We were able to get off the boat and look around. Our guide pointed out a baby gator and a snake. He believed it to be a cotton mouth - and that was all it took for me to hightail it back to the boat. I also saw some cicadas fornicating in the swamp. LOL 😆Again keep your eyes out on this trip for any type of wildlife because they are there! 👍🏽Highly recommend this adventure and don't forget to: ask questions, keep on the lookout for while life and tip your...
Read more100% choose this place. It was always on the bucket list for me to see alligators in the Everglades and I’m so glad I chose to do it with this company. It seemed to be the most ethical company for it. We came in March with my group of 4. Instead of choosing a company that provided transportation and a less ethical way of treating the gators, we chose to rent a car and drove from Miami which I recommend. From the start the staff was very nice and welcoming. They told us to grab food and they had burgers and hot dogs on the grill! It was perfect in the hot weather to eat while waiting with a cool soda or water. They have well maintained portapottys if you need the bathroom. Once they were ready we were all called by the guide’s name which is written on the tickets. Once we started the ride it was so nice and seeing the different kinds of wildlife was amazing. When we got to our first alligator our tour guide called it over super close to our boat using a special call. I could tell how much he cared for the alligator as he pet it and cleaned its face. He even got these amazing pics for me with the mouth open. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and taught us about the history of the land and seemed very comfortable with the gators. There was a family in our group where majority didn’t speak English so he would wait until the dad fully translated to move on and ensure they weren’t left out. That was considerate of him. He was funny too! I think his name was Fabian. I highly recommend using Buffalo Tiger to see the alligators and lots of other wildlife. They are respectful to the land and its nature. Beautiful bird sightings and was just awesome riding thru the swamp. Also they have the cutest kindest doggy there :) he came over to keep up company while we waited. After the swamp we drove thru Loop Rd and we saw some more gators and other wildlife which...
