Piggly Wiggly Review: A Community-Focused Grocery Store with Great Value
Piggly Wiggly, a well-known grocery chain, has been serving communities for decades. While not as large as some national chains, it maintains a loyal customer base due to its focus on convenience, value, and quality. With locations scattered across the southeastern United States, Piggly Wiggly offers a familiar shopping experience that blends personal service with a broad selection of everyday groceries.
Product Variety and Quality: Piggly Wiggly offers a comprehensive range of products, including fresh produce, meats, dairy, canned goods, and frozen items. The quality of fresh produce and meats is generally praised for being consistent and of good value. Many locations carry local and regional products, which can give shoppers access to unique items that may not be found at larger, national chains. Their private label brand, "Piggly Wiggly," offers budget-friendly options without sacrificing quality.
Customer Service: One of Piggly Wiggly’s standout features is its customer service. Employees are known for being friendly and helpful, often providing a more personal shopping experience compared to bigger grocery stores. Many Piggly Wiggly locations have a more community-oriented feel, and staff are often seen engaging with regular customers. The smaller store sizes also mean that staff can provide quicker, more attentive service, especially at checkout.
Pricing and Value: Piggly Wiggly provides competitive pricing, often offering discounts and promotions that make it a great option for budget-conscious shoppers. They focus on providing value in the form of deals on staples like milk, bread, and eggs, while also offering specials on meats and produce. While the prices might not always be the lowest compared to larger chains like Walmart or Kroger, the store's overall value is appreciated by many customers who prioritize service and convenience over rock-bottom pricing.
Store Layout and Ambiance: Piggly Wiggly stores tend to be smaller in size compared to the massive supermarkets found in urban areas. The layout is often straightforward and easy to navigate, making it an ideal choice for customers who prefer a simpler shopping experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with many locations offering a more laid-back environment compared to larger grocery chains. However, due to the smaller size, the variety of non-grocery items may be limited.
Special Features and Programs: Piggly Wiggly often runs promotions and loyalty programs that reward regular customers. Many stores offer digital coupons through their app, making it easier for customers to save on their favorite items. The stores also feature weekly flyers with discounts on selected products, allowing shoppers to plan their trips around the best deals.
Conclusion: Overall, Piggly Wiggly offers a shopping experience that combines convenience, value, and a strong sense of community. While it may not have the extensive selection or low prices of larger chain stores, it delivers on quality products, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. For those seeking a more personalized grocery shopping experience with good deals and local offerings, Piggly Wiggly is an...
Read moreI really like this particular Piggly Wiggly and have shopped here for decades... today's experience was worth noting... Dee,, who is a supervisor checked me out... she must be having a bad day because she was extremely short with me throughout scsnning my items and seemed exasperated that i was using ebt to pay and as i was putting my bagged groceries back in my cart, raised her voice to just below yelling to say I was forgetting a bag which I wasn't, I guess I just wasn't moving fast enough for her. She was also very impatient with the customer before me... I understand that everyone has bad days, however especially if ypu are a supervisor, you should not take it put on your customers. And it doesn't matter if it's cold hard cash or ebt... those dollars contribute to the livelihood of the store and her as well. to Miss Dee... I hope your day gets better and I apologize for picking your line to...
Read moreI used to LOVE this store. I was very upset with the meat department worker today. So upset in fact that I had to wait 6 hours to calm down enough to do this review. I no longer live in Alabama but every time I visit I make a point to come to Piggly Wiggly. Today, after purchasing 2 coolers for the trip, I went with the sole purpose of getting a couple meat bundles. They weren't able to do the meat bundles so I was just going to get several packs of other meats. I put back $230.00 (pre-10% added) because when I asked for a certain cut of meat, THAT WAS ON THE RACK HE WAS PUTTING OUT, he rolled it to the back, took the packs off I wanted then came back out and said "were don't have any". When I said something about it he said it was not what I asked for BUT I LITERALLY READ THE PACKAGE BEFOREHE TOOK THEM BACK!.I WILL NEVER SHOP THIS...
