This is directed to the Medical Group and mainly the pharmacy staff. Wish I could give you 10 stars. This Covid thing was a total mess for all. With that said I just want to say a big thank you to the pharmacy staff and the volunteers that helped bring our medicine out to us . Whether it was hot, cold, wet or a parking lot full of people sitting in their comfortable vehicles all of you performed in an explemporary manner . Professional and always pleasant. Thanks to each and every one of you . Love and respect for everyone that made it work. Well I'm still new at this Google thing. A big thanks to our Security Forces team also. Always professional and polite. Its one of those thankless jobs that a lot of people take for granted and especially when coming onto the base . Most of us only have contact with the men and women at the gate coming in the base . I know it can be a monotonous job when there is a long line of traffic coming in. Sometimes it probably seems never ending. You're out in the heat , the cold and unpleasant weather. I just want to thank each and every one of you for doing your job and keeping me and the rest of us safe . You are the best! Love and respect for everyone one of you. Hey , those of you complaining about the Dover aircraft flying over and causing noise and pollution to you folks in New Castle when Biden comes in . Its not the 436th or 512th . The jets are from Andrews. Air Force and Marines. Before you slam Dover AFB get your facts together. Educate yourself before...
Read moreSo back in July 2005 I took a hop with a toddler and baby from mcchord afb heading to Charleston, SC… I will never forget the nightmare that I endured when the flight was diverted here. It’s a very tiny base and I knew absolutely no one close by. I was unable to sleep any where waiting for a hop that was heading to Charleston and no one with any info. I stayed at the terminal patiently waiting for something I don’t believe was ever going to happen. My brother and daddy drove all the way from Charleston, sc to Dover to pick me and my babies up and I was delusional from no sleep and trying to take care of my babies.. ugh I took a commercial flight home after that nightmare. Lol! It was an experience that I’ll never forget . Memories in the making I suppose but that was the smallest base I ever laid eyes on and everything like closed super early. I remember trying to get Burger King and I believe they had...
Read moreHaving stayed at several military bases over the years, Dover Air Force Base by far had the best accommodations of any. Individual rooms in the barracks with air conditioning and a mini fridge? I didn't get either at Patuxent River Naval Air Station or Fort Belvoir. Food was actually edible, dare I say enjoyable compared to anything the Navy or Army would cook up.
Pleasant scenery, all things considered, friendly staff even when in training (which is also weird for the military). If you're considering service, Air Force is certainly the most attractive option. Would highly recommend a day at the M-16 range and taking a ride on a KC-135.
Thank you to those who serve, with love and...
