Update: several months later I have researched more information and this update is more for recommendation to pet parents who are looking for boarding for their pets while away. This place is very stressful for a dog, because they stay in very small cages 23 hours of the day and have 1 hour play time, if they are neutered. The cage is so small that I read the daily log for my Pomeranian saying that they did not use the bed I provided because it would not fit in the cage. He also came home with a horrible bacterial diarrhea that the vet tested and said it is transmitted in shelters from pet to pet due to less hygiene. He was on antibiotics and some other medication for a week to get back to normal. Please note that this review is NOT for the pet caretakers at the place because they were amazing!! It simply is for the nature of this type of boarding that unnecessary stresses the dog and can bring him health issues too. I would recommend to a pet parent who wants to make sure their dog is safe for a longer trip to have a pet sitter or pet home boarding through the various apps like Rover, Wag and many others. That would be less stressful and safer for your pet. Again my pet care takers were amazing girls who took pictures for me and gave me updates daily for which I am very grateful! This might be a 1 day type of stay option if anything.
Original review: Great day care. Very responsive. Stayed in contact with me the whole time and sent me pictures of my pup. Payed extra attention to him and fed him special food for his dietary needs and had to spoon feed as well. I appreciate all the extra care and love given to my pup so he doesn’t feel abandoned and alone and in anxiety. Sam is absolutely phenomenal with the care and love for pets. I really appreciate her! Also many thinks to Bri for all the care! I know he has quite unique needs so...
Read moreTERRIBLE experience! There have been many inconsistencies and issues in taking our dog here 2 weeks ago. We trusted the ratings, which there’s no way it could truly be a 4.8. The front desk miscommunicated pricing, claimed that our dog would get a “bath” for free because he was a new pup to their establishment, and our dog has been sick since we picked him up.
When we picked our dog up, our total stay was $84 more than what we expected. As they brought our dog out to us, my wife noticed his chin was sopping wet, and both eyes tear stained. They claimed that he was drooling, although he just received a bath. This was no normal bath as we were charged almost $50. It’s a full spa treatment (nail trim, bath, and blow out) that was never explained to us when we called only for a bath. Although thankful, this was not necessary nor needed. Our dog does not drool unless he vomits, and you would think if he received a blow out that he would be completely dry. We believe that the staff neglected to tell us that our dog was sick as the following 3 days after picking him up he vomited over 20x (including food and blood) and had terrible diarrhea. This is not normal (our dog is only 4 yrs. old), yet Paws In Paradise showed more curiosity in researching the tests that were conducted from our vet, and not take any blame.
The only reason that it has taken me so long to write this review was to give them an opportunity to reconcile the situation, and I’m still waiting for a call back. I was told that I would receive a call back from Danielle or Brian- one of the two owners, and never have. I received a call back from Joe- the president who said “sorry that your dog is sick, but I can only help with a future stay”. We will never be back! There’s no reason that I would allow our dog to go...
Read moreI only went once and once was enough....something was just off from the very get go and I should have listened to my gut. I walk in and am filling out the paperwork to get my dog into daycare and I hear the lady inside yelling at the dogs already inside. That was red flag enough because of how many daycares we have been to across the country and one other one was like that we we left immediately. With that being said I have the sweetest dog. Very loving and playful and I’ve never in my 5 years of owning him have I ever seen him slightly aggressive. I get compliments of how loving he is and how much of a joy he is to have because he’s so good with all the puppies and loves to play and is so happy... I get there to pick him up and they said they had to separate him and he’s going to be a solo because he was so aggressive he was showing his teeth. WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY DOG TO GET HIM TO DO THAT? I’m not even trying to say my dog is the perfect angel, but I also know he was defensive about something since I have never seen him like that. As she’s telling me this I can hear the girl now screaming at dogs to shut up. I will never be back and I’m glad my dog has just as good judgement in character as I do. I’m sorry I put him through a full day of that. Maybe she had a bad day, but do not take it out on these happy and loving dogs in which you get...
