Settlemyre Nursery — Local services in Drexel

We recently worked with Michelle Settlemyre to completely redesign our landscaping and all we can say is WOW. The design is gorgeous and incredibly well thought out, with Michelle taking into account things like the fact that our front yard is shaded, we have lots of deer around the neighborhood, etc. After she came to our house to survey the site, we gave Michelle full creative rein to design something beautiful… and she sure did make it happen! We received 3D renderings of our newly designed yard, and it was so helpful and exciting to visualize how things will look once our plants have had some time to grow. I’m including these designs with my review. Michelle hand-selected rocks and boulders for our yard and she also chose plants of various colors and heights, which gave the overall design a lot of unique interest. After everything was approved (we had the option to request changes but didn’t have any), the delivery team at Settlemyre came out and placed every single plant in its exact position so that the install would be seamless. The plants we received from the nursery were all healthy and beautiful. The quality of the design service and plants we received was top notch in every regard. Settlemyre Nursery is incredible. They know their stuff! What a pleasure to deal with! I took my family to this nursery based on a recommendation - now I understand why! We bought a home here (coming from the west coast) and are unfamiliar with the growing habits of the area. We walked around the nursery and gathered a tray of beautiful, healthy flowers and plants only to be advised by a nursery employee to put it all back when we showed her the pictures of where we were planning on planting. We were told that these plants would not do well in direct sunlight. AWESOME to know that our long term results were more valued than the quick (and significant) sale. THEN...we asked about trees! The FANTASTIC young lady (I am so sorry that I didn't get her name) advised us (again, based on where we told her where we were planning to put them) what we should/shouldn't be looking for (keeping "aggressive roots" and sun/shade in mind). She was so very helpful! When we did decide, she picked the healthiest of the healthy and helped stuff our SUV. Can't wait until planting season comes around again - We Will...

Walking into Settlemyre nursery was a little intimidating due to the large scale and variety of plants, but I was quickly comforted by their amazing staff who took time to help answer questions and share their expertise. My wife and I paid to have our front yard landscaped, we wanted to try and do the backyard by ourselves. All I did was provide dimensions and the amount of sun/shade the area gets and they not only helped find plants that would thrive in the area they drew out a map suggesting where to plant things and made it so easy! They delivered mulch to our house, helped us load up our Subaru with trees and shrubs, taught us how to properly use fertilizer and soil additives. When the mulch was delivered they went above and beyond to help make our project a success. We will be back. It’s a one stop shop. Thank you! I will try to update with photos as we get...
