I REFUSE to ever go back to this skating rink again! The owner treated me and my girls AWEFUL!!
The Tuesday night AD says that Tuesday night admission is FREE, it does NOT say that you MUST purchase skate rentals in order to enter the building!!
My daughter always skates but her and her friend did not have the $3.00 for skate rentals and neither did I. So the girls still wanted to go since admission was FREE so they could visit with their friends. They were NOT going to skate!! Just stand on the side wall and talk to their friends like teenagers do.
It's a good thing I wait in the parking lot in my car for them for the 2 hours while they are inside the rink each time we go.
They came running back out in tears saying the owner REFUSED to let them inside unless they purchased $3.00 skate rentals, even if they do not use them. I went in and the owner said it has always been that way and he does not allow CHILD SPECTATORS in his rink!
The owner said "ALL patrons age 2 to 18 are EXPECTED to skate. We are a roller rink. Not a child care center."
In the end instead of making the misunderstanding right, he continued to argue with me and belittle me, telling me to go to a different roller rink! He could not put his pride down for 2 hours and let two 12yr old girls hang out with their friends in a safe open space.
By the way: ALL Sk8's bathrooms are always dirty, NASTY! Ceiling tiles are missing and have water stains, along with buckets everywhere when it rains to catch the leaks. The snack stand is a joke! The prices are always different depending on who is working. Most the time the kids stand at the snack stand for a very long time before one of the employees finally decide to come over and help them. The skate floor has cracks in it that causes the kids to fall. And the music is inappropriate 80% of the time. I do not recommend this...
Read moreI never got his name, but the gentleman who was most likely the manager of All Sk8 was so kind to me and my friend. He made certain accommodations for us when he didn’t have to. Everyone there was just so kind, and it was a great environment. Me and my friend came all the way from Marion to get here to DuQuoin. The address listed on Google and on the website will not bring you to the actual location if you put it in Google Maps or any GPS navigation app like Waze, etc. When I was lost, I called and the manager was willing to speak with me several times (I called plenty of times!) and helped me to find the skating rink when it was dark. He was very polite and patient with me every time I called about directions and had poor reception throughout a few of the calls. The rink is a great place to be, and I enjoyed the music they played. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re looking to roller...
Read moreLiterally the biggest joke. Not only is everything at least thirty years old and filthy but they also do not heat the building. They will say it’s because they are waiting for the heat to be replaced but it’s been several winters like this. We spent $20 for two kids to skate - they got about twenty minutes skate time in before they started games and couples only skates that lasted about 30-45 minutes. Way too long for a preschooler to stay entertained and she’s far too advanced of a skater for the practice pad that is filthy and cracked. Would highly recommend games being limited to half the floor, especially on days like today where almost all the children were under 12 and there were only about 15 skaters participating in games. We will be making the drive to Marion now - it’s not even worth coming to this dump on Tuesdays...
